It's sort of a darker role for Michael J. Fox than what he was used to, but it's based on the fast-life/new york/coked up night life of the 80's. Unless you are a major MJF fan, I would wait until they play it on Tv or a movie channel.

I quite like it, I've built up a soft spot for it over the years. But a lot of people don't like it because Michael J seems miscast. But you also get Keifer Sutherland and Phoebe Cates, which can't be all bad!
Think of it a bit like 'Less Than Zero' and 'Light Of Day'.
It's worth buying if it's cheap, but don't spend too much. Otherwise, just wait for it to come on TV.

Well since you mentioned it, how is Light of Day? I may be going to see Joan Jett in August. Wasn't she in this?
