Okay I was thinking of some of the cheesy lines that we hear in films! It seems like that was a major fortay to 80s films, they had to have cheesy lines in them! Can anyone think of some of their favorite cheesy lines??

There are so many many movies to pick from but here a few to get you started:

Ghostbusters
Footloose
Ferris Bueller's Day Off
Secret Admirerer
The Allnighter
Midnight Madness
Clue
Sixteen Candles
The Legend of Billie Jean
9 to 5
Shag
The Money Pit
The Running Man
Twins
War of the Roses

Those are a few to get the memories started! I hope that we come up with some good ones!

Commando has some seriously cheesy lines.

Favourite one from any 80's film has to be from Commando

When Matrix is fighting Cooke in the motel and Cooke pulls out a gun:

Cooke: "f*ck you a*shole"
(Gun jams)
Martrix: "f*ck YOU a*shole"!!!!

Classic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Jessie- Evil Dead. [Smile] Of course, there's plenty of cheesy dialogue from all three films.

"Why are you *******s torturing me like this? WHY??"

The second one had some good ones too.

"Groovy."

Or The Lost Boys: "One thing about living in Santa Carla I never could stomach: all the damn vampires."

Bigfoot, I'm from Kentucky and did that movie do us proud or what? I cracked up out loud watching this movie....or was that crying when I saw some of my relatives as extras. [Razz] [Wink]

Wouldn't it be more accurate to call these "funniest lines"? To me, cheesy lines mean bad dialogue. A lot of the movies on these lists were well-written, so I don't see how they could be called cheesy.

Sincerely,

John Kilduff

But what one person may find cheesy another may find funny and vice versa. It's not the opinion of one person but many together..........

Well, then wouldn't it be even *MORE* accurate to call the thread "best lines"?

Sincerely,

John Kilduff

Rocksteady, no disrespect to your opinion, but I actually agree with Motley on this discussion. I can enjoy a movie and think it is well written, be there can be a line or lines in that movie that are way cheesy in my opinion.

Another example would be "Dirty Dancing", I liked the movie, but when Swayze says "Nobody puts Baby in a corner" it makes me bust out laughing because of the cheesiness of that line. Now other people might think it is so romantic, but it just strikes me as total cheese.

It's funny because I've never seen Dirty Dancing. The only thing I know from that movie is the song "I had the time of my life"(I think that's the name of it) and that line "Nobody puts baby in a corner". That has to be one of the most cheesy lines ever LOL. If I was Swayze, I would not have said that line. I would have been like "you need to come up with a better line because I'm not saying that."

I'm telling you, if you want to see the most cheesiest movie ever made, watch "The Annihilators". That movie can put Kraft out of business.

Nobody ever says my favorite movie lines...

One of my favorites actually has the word "Cheese" in it.

From Arthur...At the end when the guy picks the knife up from the cheese, like he's coming to stab Arthur, and Arthur says" Do you think he wants some cheese?"...we say that all the time, and then my mom loves the line from Arthur where he says at the end..."How about making me a disgusting tunafish sandwich"....my mom says that to me at lunch all the time...she'll say...want me to make you a disgusting tunafish sandwich.

We always say "Don't you hate Perry's wife?" -from Arthur. Like we say that when we don't like someone.

We quote movies around here on a daily basis.

We quote Raising Arizona all the time.

Like... What's he need his Dip-Tet??

I don't know if those are consider cheesey...I guess it is a matter of opinion on what cheesey means.

Ok, Ok...I got it! "Sixteen candles"...

"Make a wish, Samantha"

"it already came true"...

That is pretty cheesy but it's all good 'cause its one of the best endings in 80's movie history... and Jake is really hot...
