This is an 80's movie I posted about a long time ago and finally got to watch for the first time this year. "Modern Girls" is the kind of movie that grows on you the more that you watch. To start, the soundtrack is incredible with a song by Depeche Mode that makes the movie.

The website below is a tribute to the movie and they did a fantastic job of updating over the years.

Hey Valley, you couldn't have said it better. The first time I watched this movie, I thought it was the pits...

Then for some reason, several months later, I had the urge to watch it again and see if there was any redemption factor. There was!!! Now, Modern Girls is a favorite. You really start to get into the characters and the soundtrack is incredible. I love the songs "No Promises" by Icehouse, "One Way Love" by TKA, "Passion" by Lions and Ghosts and "Girls Night Out" by Toni Basil. I had the vinyl. I found it on Ebay and transferred it to CD.

Virginia Madsen is gorgeous in this! The chemistry between Cece (Cynthia Gibb) and Bruno X (Clayton Rohner) is great! If you guys haven't see this movie, check it out. It's perfect to have on late at night when you're not going anywhere. Makes you feel like you're out club hopping [Smile] !

When I first watched it, I admit, I wasn't blown away like othe Madsen, Zuniga, Gibbb and Rohner movies like Sure thing, Youngblood, or Just One of the Guys but on later viewings the fashions, the music and the un vibe of the movie won me over. My first awareness of this movie actually came from seeing Depeche Mode's video for But Not Tonight(which I haven't seen since), and I finally connected the dots one day and seeked out the movie.

Love this movie! One thing though, does anyone know if there is a full version of 'safari' out there? I love the song in the movie, but havent found anything outside of it.
