Some of us are watching "Valley Girl" tonight, so I thought it might be neat if everyone that has access to this movie watches it as well. Despite popular belief I don't watch this movie Every weekend, just every 3rd Saturday of the month. [Razz] [Big Grin]

Everyone has seen my list of little things I found watching the movie, I challenge everyone to watch it and tell me something you noticed for the first time tonight. Btw, I really do think that is Katey Sagal in the audience at the club as Isis pointed out on my thread.

For the folks that can't watch this movie tonight, I recommend watching Paul's Favorite movie...."Some Kind Of Wonderful" as an excellent alternative.

See ya at the movies! [Wink]

"Valley Girl" is great in 3-D.....hey is that Tommy's face? [Cool]

Valley, that sounds like a plan. I never get tired of watching this movie, in fact I am such a fan that I have made my own healthy foods t-shirt Frederic Forrest (Julie's father) was wearing. Going to watch it tonight, and when are we going to put up the money for that Valley Girl theme park?

I never get tired of watching this either, in fact there aren't too many 80s flicks that I ever get to tired of watching. It is funny when you watch something for like the 100th time and are able to find something new! I just love that about films!

If I am around I will put Valley Girl on and try to find something new to post about.

Kind of funny because one of my very first posts was about the comment that Beth makes to skip about "Plastics...the time to do something is when the time is right.." I had no idea what this meant for the longest time. Then someone let me in on a little movie called the Graduate!!!

I am making some popcorn, and sitting in my new jacuzzi, which is in the middle of my bedroom, which I can watch TV from, and that is the plan for me at about 9PM tonight!!

See ya at the movies.

Goof...I'll see you at the Valley Sheraton (again!!!) [Wink] [Wink] [Wink] [Big Grin]

The countdown is on, I am going to try and make Valley Girl and Sixteen Candles those movies where i can mute them and quote all the dialogue. The only movies I have been able to do this for are the Mask and Top Gun. I feel the need, the need for speed! The fast kind that is.

I watched it. I was so tired. A friend of mine came over to see my new bathroom, and she ended up staying and we watched Fast Times at Ridgemont High and Urban Cowboy. After she left it was already late, but I wanted to watch Valley Girl and hang in my jacuzzi...which I did..that tub takes forever to fill up with water. My outdoor hot tub is already full.. you just jump in. So, with the water running and the vent on, the first 1/2 hour of the movie was hard to hear without blasting it, but it didn't matter, cause I know it word for word.

I can't believe I stayed awake. I even went back through and started watching it again with Amy Heckerling's commentary. They made that movie on a $350,000 budget. I wonder how much money it has gross now?

I wanted to ask...does anyone know anything about Du-Par's Restaurant...they hung out there alot?? I take it, that it is a real place. Those are the kind of places I loved as a kid..they had dinner food in them...they had the best french fries. I love those kind of places, cause I hate fast food, but I like junk food...if that makes sense. But,I like well made junk food.

The thing that always bothers me about Skip and Susie is...he was really wanting the mom...and wasn't really interested in Susie (it seemed) until the shower scene...so I always thought he was kind of a jerk, and I didn't really like that they hooked up.

I never like "Samantha" either-she seemed creepy...the one scene that is a bummer, is when Randy walks out of the bathroom, after just having been with Samantha, and he hears them playing " Million Miles Away"...and you can see on his face...he is thinking about Julie...and feeling guilty for what he just did.

I like that they never actually "did it" in the movie...that even for a teenage sex movie, Julie was a nice girl...and they dated a long time and really were in love, and knew each other, and didn't just jump in to all of that...it was really realistic as to what dating was like in the 80's...at least that's exactly how I remember all of it.

When I watch Valley Girl...I can totally flash back to scenes in that movie that are exactly like real life things I did back in the 80's, and that's why I love that movie so much.

I am never bored with this movie.

Du-Par's is definitely a real place. Infact, there is a hidden DVD Easter Egg that shows the outside of the restaurant today. Though the pictures are not very flattering.

Du-Par's Restaurant

Studio City
12036 Ventura Blvd. Location

Great song!

Speaking of I La La love you, that was really an untypical song of Pat Travers. For years, I thought it was the Tubes. He was a real blues kind of guy, so that's the most new wave he got.
