Cindymancini let me copy this movie to watch since I had never seen it before.
I just had to stop it before it even got to the end, because the effects in it were so freaky and scary, it was totally creeping me out.
The scene where Mary Lou catches on fire at the beginning, that was so awful to watch her burning up, and the end where the other girl gets shot and what happens to her after that...that was hideous, that was one of the creepiest special effects and so gory..I always like watching a new 80's movie I have never seen before...at least I always thought so, but this one was too creepy...and I have to go figure out something else to watch tonight so I don't have horrible nightmares.

I really liked this movie. In some ways, I thought it was better than the original Prom Night. It's been years and years since I've seen it. I'd like to see it again. Mary Lou wasn't exactly Ms. Innocent, was she??

She sure wasn't. I do know that I liked the punch bowl at the dance, it had a palm tree in the middle of it, and I thought it was totally cool, and I loved the 50's music. They played the song "Little Darlin", and I love that song.
I just couldn't stand watching her burn up, that was too real, and it freaked me out, and then at the end....that was so gross....I had to stop it...so I don't know how it ended.
Was Virginia (the blonde girl) actually killed????
I definately like the original one much better, but I hardly would really compare them, because they were completely seperate movies.

This one really did have great and "believable" effects in it! That is what is missing from today's horror flicks! To much supernatural type stuff.
They definitely are two different types of films. I am interested in who did the visual effects on the second film. I think whoever it was was a genius and I would like to see if they went on and did anything else over the top!
The burning stuff was freaky!!! I miss films like this, I wish that someone would make a film for today and dedicate it to the fabulous horror pics of the 80s! Do more realistic type visual effects where the actors actually have to act! No computer stuff please!

Maybe your next party should be '50s Prom and you could do the palm tree puinch bowl and play all the '50s hits!
I like PROM NIGHT 2 a lot 2. It sort of has a NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET vibe to it (Especially that girl getting sucked into the chalkboard. I love that scene).
That carousel horse in Vicky's room creeped me out. (Whats with that tongue? HELLO??????)
I think the most memeorable scene is the Locker Room scene. (SQUISH!!!!)
Dont bother with PROM NIGHT 3 and 4 though.

I am really surprised that you didn't like this movie Isis. I loved it! And mamamiaweetpeaches, that carousel horse is awesome in a creeptastic way! I think the tongue is sticking out because it's possessed or something. In any event, it fits perfectly with her pretty 80's bedroom!

I thought the 80's factor of the movie was very cool. But, it was pretty freaky, and way scarier to me than the type of scary movies I usually watch. I was semi falling asleep at the end, and already dreaming about parts of the movie, and it was too scary.
