Is it just me or in the first Gremlins didn't the Futterman's bite the big one when a "freak snow plow" accident happened with the Gremlins?
Obviously not since they showed back up in Gremlins 2: The New Batch. Had this ever occured to anyone else before??

Well, I watched the commentary, and here's what they said: They originally had the Futtermans die (the mom did in the original script too, but throwing the mom's head down the stairs lost it's fine ring), but they liked the characters so much that they thought it was a mean way to die and so if you listen to the radio while Billy is driving you can hear them say something about them surviving the accident. Besides, no one said they died and in the second one they mention "the accident."

Huh, when I watch the show again I will have to listen for that radio commentary. I cannot believe that I have missed it when I have watched it so many times.

It's easy to miss; I wouldn't have caught it if I hadn't listened to the commentary. Do you own the Special Edition DVD? If you do, the commentary is really worth a listen, it's really funny (except Zach Galligan basically talks all the time and you get a total of about two lines from Phoebe Cates and Howie Mandel).
