Okay here's a tough one but i'm really, really trying to figure it out. All I remember is that it was a young white male teenage actor from the 80's who was a robot or an android or something. he smiled really big, but he was pale and dorky looking. his character, being an android, was very naiive. Can anyone help or give suggestions about what it might be if there were a few movies like that?

My guess is Not Quite Human (1987) with Jay "The Boy Who Could Fly" Underwood, Robyn "Teen Witch" Lively, and Alan Thicke.
