Huh?? This has been in stores here in Germany (region 2) for ages, and not only in German language but in English of course. Strange.

According to the stores I've seen (Amazon, Play) this was the first R2 release.

This is really wierd. The DVD release here was Aug. 8, 2003. Amazon has had it as a special offer for a couple of EUR for ages. I almost bought it - do you recommend it? I guess since it has John Cusack in it, it can't be bad?

The movie's superb - I have it on vhs, but am looking to swap out all my old tapes for dvd at the moment, as cash, releases, and opportunity allows.
If you don't have this, and haven't seen it, go get it.

Wait, this new edition of the Sure Thing doesn't have the special feature right? Taking those special features out of Sure Thing and Valley Girl still ticks me off to no end.

Riptide's exactly right, yet another 80s DVD release packed with…absolutely no extras whatsoever (they could’ve put a retrospective on or cast/ director’s commentary at the very least)
So how does this work again?: vanilla (two years later) special edition (three years later) collector’s edition (the year after that) special collector’s 20th anniversary edition: stop being DVD whores and release two versions (standard and collectors), even Tarantino's nuts if he thinks I'm gonna fork out $50 for Kill Bill just to see the house of the blue leaves scene in colour.
