My son was watching this movie tonight. I have never seen it, but what he said about it made me think I should. It is from 1982, it was directed by and stars Clint Eastwood.
Has anyone else seen it...and what did you think??

I liked it. It's a little predictable, but then early 80s movies about USA vs Russia all were - at least the hollywood ones.

Steven...me and you both...it came back on today, and I thought it was going to be pretty good, but I could not get in to it, and was almost falling asleep...I finally had to get up and move around...or I would have been out cold. It is still playing too...it must have been super long. Cause it started at 12:30PM, and it is now almost 3pm.
It just showed him in that plane flying around and talking to himself just too much. I mean if the thing flies that fast...why couldn't he get to where he was going a heck of alot faster than what he was.

As I'm an Eastwood fan, I saw this movie years ago on a lazy sunday afternoon. Quite liked the way he directed the flashbacks using stills whilst the Firefox scenes were also cool in an over-the-top way (as close to an X-Wing battle as Clints ever likely to get). And yes, it did go on for what seemed like forever.

Awesome movie. The movie itself lasts like 2 hours 16 minutes. But add in edits and commercials, and I'm sure it is long...
