Just ordered this DVD. Does anyone else think this movie is hysterical?

If this is the one with Robert Townsend in it I think it's a good hidden gem movie. I love the way they try and break down the black stereotypes in movies. Even though the topic matter might seem a little dated today it was very poignant when it first came out in the 80's. Very good purchase.

Yup..it's the one with Robert Townsend in it. He's a black actor who can't get jobs because he's not "black enough". He has dream sequences about how blacks are portrayed in movies like black pimps and slaves trying to run away from The Master and a black private eye doing "The Nasty" on his desk.

Mamamia, if you like the movie when you see it, perhaps you could do a write-up on it for the Rewind. I've enjoyed reading your postings and I think you could do some good reviews.
Sincerely,
John Kilduff
