Okay when you think back to characters from the 80s that were a couple that you absolutely fell in love with, who exactly comes to mind??
I definately think of Joe and Lisa from Fire with Fire.
I also think of Dan and Debbie from About Last Night..
Okay those are the two main ones that stick out in my head? Can you help me think of any others?????

Jessie...you need to see Liar's Moon...I know you would love it. I don't know how anyone could not like it.
I just realized not long ago that the actress that plays Jack Duncan's(Matt Dillon) mom is Maggie Blye and she played Kristy McNichol's mom in Little Darlings. I always liked her as an actress.
It is the perfect movie...it is very sad...but they are so cute together, I think it is set in either the 40's or the 50's. I am not sure if they ever released it on DVD. I am going to have to look, cause it is one of my favorites. I should have put it on my top 15 favorites, and forgot.

I haven't seen that many romantic movies, although I have seen movies with 2 people that have homoerotic ("Lethal Weapon") or Sapphic ("Beaches") overtones.
If I had to pick one, I would choose Frank Drebin and Jane Spencer from "The Naked Gun: From The Files Of Police Squad".

I forgot about Randy and Julie from Valley Girl. Good Option.
How about Diane Court and Lloyd Dobler from Say Anythig..
Also Millie and Eric from The Boy who Could Fly. It is very sad but very cute.

Sorry I'm late...
It's one of my favorite movies (I did the page on it for the Rewind), but it's homoerotic because...well, most 80s action movies were. Although I'm a major conservative, I can see how people would construe movies with half-naked men and phallic guns as homoerotic.
Here's another example of what I mean:
Did you notice that in "Top Gun", the most Kelly McGillis did was unbutton her shirt while Tom Cruise, on the other hand, got oiled up and stripped down to his skivvies for a hearty all-male game of volleyball?
I rest my case.
Sincerely,
John Kilduff
