I remember watching, I think on HBO, a movie when I was a kid in the 80’s It was kind of like a mix between “Labyrinth”, and “The Garbage Pail Kids Movie” with your formulaic good-guys-come-out-better-for-it sort of plot devise. The only thing that I remember is that real life humans could enter this other realm through mirrors. On this other side, there were Muppet-like creatures. I remember the movie being rather enchanting. I’d like to find it now that I am thinking of it, but I can barely remember it as it is. Can anyone fill in some details here? Thanks

Hm . . . The Dark Crystal? I'm only taking a stab at it because I have no idea.

Though I am reluctant to admit it, I think that this is the movie. Woah! It's the "mirrors" thing that makes me think so. That is the most distinguishable feature in my mind from the film.

Yeah, but . . . wasn't the Hugga Bunch a cartoon? I was gonna say that, but you said puppets, which, uh, aren't cartoons.

Devo can you believe it...someone else has asked about The Hugga Bunch Movie. It is a 1 in 3 chance that when someone new posts about a movie, if you guess Hugga Bunch you will probably be right. Amazing that the name of this movie slips so many people's minds.
Lupa, the Hugga Bunch Movie had some live action muppet type characters in it. Maybe this box cover will help solidify what Devo already knows without ever seeing the movie:

The movie I am referring to has both live humans and muppet-like creatures. When I was looking at stuff regarding "Hugga Bunch" it seemed like there was a movie in 1984 that fits the description, and then a remake in 2001 that is all animation. though, I can not be sure about this.

As long as their travelling to somewhere else through mirrors, then this might be the movie. I remember the going through mirrors clearly, because I tried to do it and it didn't work!!!!!

The HUGGA BUNCH is a group of soft, huggable characters who live in Huggaland, a magical place that exists on the other side of the mirror.
They come into our world to revive our hugging senses and teach us the value of holding someone real close. Huggins, Hugsy, Tickles, Impkins, Bubbles, Precious Hugs, Patooty and Tweaker are the Hugga Bunch. Together with their tiny friends, the Hugglets, they stir in us the love that’s waiting to come out in a hug.
Join the Hugga Bunch as they answer the call of a child in distress. Gennie James, who portrayed Sally Field’s daughter in the Academy Award-winning movie “Places in the Heart”. stars as little Bridget Severson, a lonely child about to lose the only person who knows how to give a real hug, her grandmother. Bridget and the Hugga Bunch journey to Huggaland in search of a solution that will keep Bridget’s “Grams” from leaving. Together they seek the wisdom of the Book Worm, Huggaland’s smartest character, and begin a fantastic adventure!

Oh wow. That is scary. O.o I guess the cover confused me, because I've seen the cartoon cover, but this is the first time I've seen the back.
