Okay let's connect some stuff up here, I talk about Only the Young in my song of the day, so now let's talk about the movie. This is just a total feel good movie that perfectly outlays the defeat by the underdog. Excellent songs in the flick and performances by Madonna. I am not sure about Linda Fiorentino's hair in this one, I think she was wearing a wig in a couple of scenes. Of course absolutely perfect supporting performance by one of the not seen enough 80s guys Michael Schoeffling.
This flick always makes me think of the first time I watched it. It was in the summer time on HBO like at 2:00 in the morning. I was maybe 13 when I saw it, so you know 2:00 was so late! Now I am lucky sometimes to get to bed by that time to get up at 7:00. This is just another good memory film all around. Do you guys have any special memories about Louden and the gang?

JLP this movie was an 80's classic for me. I love the music of Journey, Berlin, John Waite & Madonna in it.
Louden was an interesting character and he caught the essence of an 18 year old athlete in high school. You had to find the balance of the love of your sport and the lust of your mind. Complicated stuff for an 18 year old fer sure.
Btw, JLP don't mention Michael Schoeffling too loud because you will make Cindy Mancini jealous.

I enjoyed this movie too. I thought it was weird the way his nose kept bleeding. A funny part for me is when she said she liked guys with big hands and he starts talking using his hands a lot. I have this one on DVD and watch it a couple of times a year. Madonna had a great cameo in it and I loved the soundtrack.
