Meathead from Meatballs II Madison from Splash Chucky from Child's Play
This occured to me tonight as I watched Meatballs II. I love this movie but you could never get away with it today. Do you know what I mean? People take everything too seriously. Not too many people in modern day society would be amused by an alien in a rainhat with really long arms who likes to eat hot gnib gnabs...hahaha.
I'm sure there are more characters like this. I'm just too tired to think beyond those three.

I don't think one character from Teen Wolf would be allowed to exist today. The Wolf would have to kill everyone in the school, Stiles would just be a Stifler-clone, and Boof would end up looking like a Maxim model ... in other words, they would un-make everything good about the movie.

Oh, I so see what you mean. Earth Girls Are Easy wouldn't make it past the rough draft. Even movies from the 90's wouldn't pass today--Then again, some things today shouldn't have been made at all. I love movies with ridiculous premises--But it doesn't have to be a complete goofball movie to do that.

Good Question, I think that chucky was based on life sized dolls like My Buddy and Teddy Ruxpin. Kids at that point in time needed a reason to fear these toys otherwise they were going to keep coming.
I have noticed that you really don't get the type cast movies like "Revenge of the Nerds" anymore. Is it because people are too sensitive? I don't know.

I always thought that SPACE CAMP was a movie they could never remake--or would want too. I am sure I am very wrong, but I just can't see a script like that getting greenlighted today.

I know what you mean Cindy, they wouldn't even be considered in today's world, but I guess when something is meant to happen it will happen.
Yeah Lupa I am not so sure about Earth Girls are Easy. Well it might have been huge because of Jim Carrey.

If Earth Girls were made today, Jim Carrey would steal the whole show--He'd be playing all three aliens, no doubt.
