ISIS brought up the subject of hating new movies.... I usually watch old horror flicks... but today I decided to try something cheeryer and watch THE SURE THING starring John Cusack, Daphne Zuniga and Nicholette Sheridan. (Tim Robbins is in a scene and I almost didnt recognize him. He was hilarious!) It just reminds me how much better the Teen films of the '80s were. Afterwords I watched BETTER OFF DEAD, another good one starring John Cusack and Diane Franklin....and Booger!(Curtis Armstrong) It's so funny how there are certain people that make ya just think of '80s movies and smile. John Cusack, for one. Molly Ringwald is another one (will watch a few of her '80s flicks tomorrow).
It seems like you can always find at least two starring the same peron and have a theme night.
I also feel like watching SOME KIND OF WONDERFUL so maybe I'll team that with either HEAVEN HELP US (Mary Stuart Masterson) or THE WILD LIFE (Lea Thompson!)

so, does that mean you liked it mamamia? i hope so. i love john cusack. better off dead and the sure thing are great movies.
i feel like watching some kind of wonderful as well, and with all the talk about the wild life, i wanna make them a double feature.
i have to agree that horror movies were WAY better in the 80s. i just don't agree that all of today's movies are bad.

The Sure Thing never hit home with me for some reason. Don't get me wrong, I can watch it and have several times, but it was missing something for me. Maybe it was all the bickering by the characters, not sure really.
I'm a fan of John Cusack, I can remember see him in "Class" and telling my girlfriend there was something about that guy that made me think he would be a star someday. btw, we have been talking about Virginia Madsen lately, did anyone realize her first movie was "Class" also.
So you had Rob Lowe, Andrew McCarthy, Virginia Madsen, John Cusack, Joan Cusack, Alan Ruck, & Mr. 3 O'Clock High Casey Siemaszko all in one movie. Not to mention the two stars at the time, Jacqueline Bisset & Cliff Robertson. I haven't seen this movie in years, now I want to watch it.

Yeah...I had seen THE SURE THING with my mom when I was about 16 and almost forgot all about it. But since I've been getting dvds I just ordered a bunch of John Cusack ones for some reason. (Actually the "some reason" was probably because I was on here talking about him with a bunch of people one day and it sparked my mood to see his old movies again. I seem to remember John in CLASS but not Virginia Madsen. Was her role teeny weeny?
