I currently live like an hour away from Tulsa, and its weird cause its nothing like it is in that movie, haha. Of course, the film is set in the 60's. Tulsa is a big city, as far as the south goes, but I prefer Memphis, (which is, of course, in Tennesee). I always have so much fun in Memphis, but Tulsa is nice too.
Oh my god, let me just say that Ponyboy looked hot in that movie! I dont care if he was only 14, I so wouldve dated him, haha. The book is also amazing. I've read all of S.E. Hintons novels and I've read The Outsiders twice, which is saying a lot for me cause I dont really like to read. I highly recomend the novel, its even better than the novel, in my opinion, because I feel you become more closer to Hintons characters when reading the book. Plus, the movie cuts out some things from the novel, especially Soda's close relationship with Pony. In the novel, they were the closest friends. Ponyboy also serfices in "That Was Then, This Was Now", which is also just a brilliant novel by S.E. Hinton. Hinton has written 5 or 6 novels, if I'm not mistaken, and they're all wonderful.

S E Hinton wrote: The Outsiders, That was then, Tex, Taming the Star runner and Rumble Fish. She is the best author Ive ever read. (I dunno if that makes sence, but oh well.)

The Outsiders was probably one of the first films I ever saw, all I remembered was the fire scene and Ralph Macchio's stay gold speech, something like 18 years later, I saw the movie again and now its one of my fav films of all time. The actings excellent, especially from Ralph and Matt Dillon, check out my page for the movie right here...
