So I was looking for a Christmas present the other day and I "happened" along a DVD rack that said, "2 for $1." I was like, "Wow! 50 cents apiece for DVDs? I'd go for that!"

I asked my mom if we could go back yesterday, but since it was getting late, she told me to wait until the next day.

So today I went to Wal-Mart, and as it turned out, someone was probably messing with the signs and took off a 1, as it was "2 for $11." I felt like a dummy, but it was still $5.50 apiece, so I figured I'd get at least one if it sounded good.

It pretty much had movies that were either old or didn't do so well in theaters: Corey Haim's Double-O-Kid (I'd never heard of it; you'd never believe how appalled I was that Frankie Muniz actually RIPPED OFF another movie with that awful idea, so good it was used twice [Three times including the sequel, which I refuse to see.].), and a movie whose tagline read, "Where blood is sown, evil is grown."

It was slim-pickin's folks.

None of the DVD's were in order, either, so I had to look through them one by one, looking at titles alone. They weren't listed by genre or title--It was an unsurmountable mass of DVD upon DVD, towering above me and covering me in darkness.

I was about ready to give up, as it started to just repeat the same movies all over again. I'd look at the covers of ones with interesting titles, but I didn't think I'd find anything by then.

I saw Transylvania 6-5000 and didn't think much of it, as I could only see the top of the case with the title--But I wanted to see the cover, so I pulled it out. I was about to put it back--I'd looked very quickly--but I noticed the name Jeff Goldblum. Loving Earth Girls Are Easy, I figured he'd be good in another supernatural comedy. I took one look at the cover, and it looked right up my alley. On the back cover, I got a good view of a vampire Geena Davis and a googly-eyed Kramer, and I knew I'd found something.

I'd never heard of it before, so I had no idea what I was getting.

To make a long story short, for those of you skimming this essay-like splurge of useless knowledge, I watched the movie tonight with my parents. I loved it! It was so hokey and exaggerated; it was awesome. I was laughing out loud. There were so many familiar faces, too!

What did you all think, for those who've seen it?

Geena Davis as a scantily-clad nymphomaniac vampire. This might just be the best movie ever made. [Big Grin]

[Big Grin] Funny story; on the back cover, the picture of her as a vampire is a headshot, so you can't see her outfit that well. When she first showed up on screen, me and my parents were like, "O.O Whaaaaaaa?"

It was a different headshot, but you get the gist of it anyway. [Big Grin]

I will have to look through our bend at Wal-Mart and see if it is available. I know you can find some gems in that thing. You just have to keep checking for your favorites to appear.

I'll have to check out the bargain bins more often. [Big Grin]

Jeff Goldblum is definitely great, although Michael Richards completely stole the scene whenever he showed up.

I'm so lame; I kept snickering when I saw the name Joseph Bologna.
