Just wondering if any of you also watched the old game show. "No whammies, no whammies...STOP!"

Wasnt he the one who'd gotten the timing down on when the Big Bucks would hit and kept getting it over and over again. Id love to see that one on GSN. I definately like the old version better than the new one. Its ok but not the same.

I saw that too, and the whole thing not only was brilliant that he was able to remember the code, but to actual do it under pressure on tv, and it work, and him to get the timing precise, is amazing. He deserved it, too bad he left wads of $1.00 bills laying all over his house, because he wanted to enter another contest where you had to match the serial numbers up, and he left all that money in his house, and someone robbed him, seems like the wife was involved some how. He spent all the money. He died of throat cancer, they had his brother on the reunion show, he was the winner, those other 2 people never had a shot.

Do you guys in the US and UK have a game show called "Deal or no deal". We have it over here, and it's great. The contestant has to eliminate breifcases containing money ranging from 50 cents to $200,000. The "bank" keeps tempting them with offers to get them to quit, but the aim of the game is to hope that your briefcase contains more money than the bank is offering.

Hopefully if they do make that movie about Michael Larsen's exploits that they'd been talking about several years ago, they can include the actual episodes as bonus material. What I wouldn't have given to have been there on that unpredicatable May day in 1984. Whether you think he bankrupted CBS fairly or not, there's no denying he made game show history for all time.

Savage Steve Holland (dir of One Crazy Summer, Better Off Dead, etc) actually created the Wammy's.
