Well it really should be called film of the week this time because it has been so long. Anyhoo, let's stay in the tradition of the season and talk about "A Christmas Story". I have yet to see this film this season. I am saving it for closer to Christmas time. This really is an all-time classic film about how life was for a young boy around Christmas time in the 1940's. Ralphie Parker, all he wanted was a beebee gun. Think of how minut that is by today's standards.
It is a whole lot less expensive than a Playstation 2 or a Game Cube.
When this film was released, who would have thought it would become as memorable as it has. My favorite scene is when Ralphie comes downstairs in the pink bunny costume. Come on who could ever forget that image. Momentous. I will never ever tire of watching this film. I guess it takes time for a classic to form. This one is 20 years old! They just don't seem to make classic Christmas films any more. This one is an A+.

Great choice jlp937!! I love "A Christmas Story"! I have watched this film every year around Christmas time for as long as I can remember. Isn't it funny how that one kid, the one who got his tongue stuck to the pole later became a porn star? That cracks me up. He was also in "The Toy" with Richard Pryor. I love that one too.
Anyway, it never seems like Christmas until you watch "A Christmas Story".

Hey..anyone who loves this movie, check out Peter Billingsley's fan club on Yahoo Groups, a friend of mine did it, and it has great pictures and trivia and stuff...she also drew some pictures of him that are way cool.
I love this movie. I have already watched it once already.
I know it word for word...I love it when the Dad is cursing up a storm at the furnace!

Also who could forget the Scut Farcus affair. Yellow eyes, so help me yellow eyes.
It is really funny about Flick and the porn stuff. I have to admit I have seen him in action and it was hilarious. You can never look at him the same again.

Oh man, I just saw Scott Schwartz in The Toy-we all watched it last night, that is a great movie, and it had a message through all of it too, to be a friend you need to respect people, and not act like an idiot..I loved it..it is sad what happened to Scott.
But, you know what...Zach Ward who played Scud Farkus...he is actually good looking now, he has his own website now, he actually looks a little like Smayt!!! When I saw Smayt's picture..I thought Zach Ward grown up...look at his site,www.zachward.com and see if I am right...anyhow my friend who did the Peter Billingsley site, wrote back and forth to Zach a few times. He was trying to auction a date with himself on Ebay for $500 for charity.

actually..that Red Rider Gun, in mint condition with the box right now, is probably worth around $1200. I found a Red Ryder gun in at the antique co-op I am in,and my friend bought it for her Dad, for $50, the dealer gave her a great deal, cause she was my friend..so she looked up the serial number on it, and it was worth about $800. So, that was pretty cool, game cubes and playstations keep coming down in value, they will never be worth a thing, just like an old atari isn't. But an original Red Ryder beebee gun, is money in the bank.

I spelled his name wrong again as usual..it is Zack Ward..but I couldn't find that website that he was on before, but look his name up under a search and find a current picture, and tell me if that doesn't look like Smayt!
