Today film: Cocktail---Wow, Tom Cruise was hot in this film. The chemistry that he had with Elisabeth Shue was amazing. Tom starred as Brian Flannagen, a young man who had high dreams of becoming a rich man. Along the way he meets Doug, a burnt out bartender who becomes his best friend. The two men have a falling out and Brian moves to Jamaica. There he meets Jordan, he falls for her but she sees him with another woman and heads back to the states. Brian realizes that the life he has created is not what he really wants, he wants Jordan. After a little bit of trouble he eventually gets Jordan and they live happily ever after. My favorite scene is when Brian goes to Jordan's parent's apartment to tell her that he loves her and wants to be with her. WOW.
What are your thoughts on this fabulous flick from 1988?

I remember i loved this film when i was little, although i dont normally find Tom attractive i did in this film, i remember thinking 'i cant wait til im older, im gonna go to bars like that' cos everyone in cocktail seemed really cool and i wished i was the blonde girl in it cos she was so pretty.
Apart from that i dont remember much.

i have to agree, that tom was a fox is in this one too. i know a lot of ppl don't like him-my honey doesn't care for him either . but anyway, the movie, itself.. was 'ok.' i absolutely hate the song, KOKOMO and i don't care for elizabeth shue in this one. the story was good though. i like all the bar scenes-with brian and doug. i don't think i will ever buy this movie, but i wouldn't mind seeing it now, cause it's been a while.

Oh the wonders of cocktail and a young DEVO practicing flipping empty bottles behind my back and recreating the hippy hippy shake.
Yeah I needed help.
We are DEVO
No comments about the "needed help" statement, I can feel those coming

Truly, truly dreadful. (And I'm a big Tom Cruise fan, or at least I was before Mission Impossible 1).
