Risky Business was shown on UK tv over the weekend,i've not seen it for a while so I taped it. When I watched it later I was confused by the ending....i'm almost certain i've seen a version of this film where the final scene is of Tom lighting his cigarrette and wearing his shades and then saying ''The dream is always the same'',just like he does at the beginning of the film. Then the camera pans away as Tom rakes in the leaves.Thats it...the end! Totally diffent to the ending where he walks off into the night with Becka.! Am I goin' crazy? or are there really 2 different endings to this movie?
TOP FILM THOUGH [Wink]

Hey Smayt,

The scene where Tom lights his cigarette actually happens right before you see him walking away and talking to Rebecca. He says something to the effect of "My name is Joel Goodson, I deal in personal fulfillment. I made $8,000 dollars in one night." I'm not exact on the quotes but then the scene goes into him walking outside with Rebecca and him saying he's going to have to charge her if she wants to be his girlfriend. Hope this helped [Smile]

Oh yes I know that scene happens before he walks away with Becka, but i'm sure that in a version i've seen, the film ends with Tom in his garden raking up the leaves after saying ''the dream is always the same''.Then the credits roll.

Hang on a minute... Doesn't it finish with the "Young Enterprisers" award cerermony (?) where he says "My name is Joel Goodson, I deal in personal fulfillment. I made $8,000 dollars in one night." ??

Risky Business is probably one of my fave movies from the 80s and I can say that as far as I am aware there is only the one ending and that is the one that was shown on the ITV version the other day....I also have the DVD and its the same.

I hate to say it but your going crazy [Smile]

Since askin' this question about Risky Business, I have discovered that a different ending was shot for the film but was deemed too bleak for test screen audiences which is why we now have the more up-beat ending with Tom and Becka walkin' off into the night with the 'personal fullfilment'narration.I've been told that it is possible I may have seen the original ending,by mistake.Whether thats true or not I don't know, but at least I may not be crazy now..... well, not much anyway..!
