I am just saying this for something for everyone to think about, maybe in a month, maybe 3 years from now... It would be cool, if we could all get together somehow, so I making the offer, if enough people wanted to, and could get here. I would offer my house as a spot to come to, because I am opening it as a real Bed N Breakfast come May 2004. We are putting an inground pool in the spring. I have a hot tub. I have a bar/game room-with arcade games. I have 3 guest rooms, with tv/dvd/vcrs in them, I have over 400 80's movies on vhs, and over 40 on dvd. It could be like The Big Chill. I will have strangers here when I open, that part doesn't scare me too bad, because I know the type of people that go to Bed N Breakfasts, alot of times they are older. I would have to know that alot of people would want to come here. I am going to have about 12 people spending the night for my Halloween Party, so that will give me an idea if I really could handle it. My house is getting painted on the outside, as I write this, there are guys crawling all around my house. It is very Victorian, so before I would tell people my exact location, I would have to be positive, that it would be something we could all get together for. I just wanted to make the offer, and if anyone was even remotely interested, we could maybe discuss the whole thing. I think it would be great to meet people. But, even if we never meet, I still feel like I know alot of you, and am connected to you all through a common bond. If we did get together, we have the coolest 80's party ever!!!

hey Isis, the real funny thing is that I've been trying to arrange a get-together with Nick for years, and never quite managed it. He works about three miles from my house, but lives around 25 miles away. we really need to get this done sometime. I know he's met up with one or two guys from the UK, but in the early days of the site, not when it was is great as it is now.
If any of you DO manage to get together, remember to take a photograph and post it, so we can all share in the moment.

Internet meets are great, except the 2nd one I ever went to there were over 20 people from a newsgroup I used to post to, knew all of them through the newsgroup but meeting so many in one go in real life almost gave me a panic attack!

Paul- you and Nick have never meet then??? You have to!! I know I would be a nervous wreck too, it would maybe be over whelming. But, think of how fun it really could be. I mean I picture the best case scenerio of everything, sometimes things don't turn out like I picture them to in my mind, but I feel like I have meet all these people, and yet I have never even heard any of your voices ever. That is freaky. It would make a good movie, wouldn't it???

Yeah, I think that it is tough when you have the UK rewinders and the US rewinders and the other country rewinders. It's weird that we all talk to each other everyday, but not really. Hmmmm.

Wow Isis, You are going to open a Bed and Breakfast!? I have always wanted to own one!! It would make perfect sense for me to own one. I would just need to find the right property. Right now I am an interior designer but I working on gettting a degree in public history and historic preservation. I hope to be able to restore architectural "jewels".Right now most of the "jewels" are in ruins that I want to restore but hopefully with a bit more training and a lot more money they will shine like they once did!! Well I also think that is awesome and great idea to get everyone together! Hope it all works out that you might have serveral visitors for your grand opening be BIG 80's fans!!!

Ur right DEVO, this get together could be tricky...especially for me since I don't think my units would be to keen on letting me skip school and venture off to meet people I met over the internet.( that is, if it takes place outside SoCal) This is a bummer! my dreams of more freedom at 16 are dashed! lol.

A few of us were talking about having an 80s convention type thing last year. Most of the people I used to talk too don't come here anymore. Either way, I'd still love to meet you all, past and present rewinders. Hmmmm..sounds like we're in a gang. We need t-shirts or something now.

I am in PA- McFly- did you read my post under DVD Frenzy?? Check it out.
Maybe we could break up in to groups, an East Coast/ West Coast / and then a UK one too. But we could all plan it for the same day, and then we could like call each other and all talk, or have a webcam or something, that we could to see each other on. I think it would be fun.
TresFoxy- I am an antique dealer, and I do alot of interior decorating stuff, in this antique co-op I am in. I do the window displays, and display cases. I love it. My house was built at a tourist house in 1887-so it was just what a Bed N Breakfast is today-originally. It is in historical books. It has beautiful pine hardwood floors. It has 11 rooms. It has a huge wrap around front porch. I have a balcony off my bedroom. It has all kinds of cool gingerbread and cool architecture. It is so solid, it doesn't seem old. I look up bed n breakfast places on the internet all the time, to get ideas and to just look at the rooms. Mine has a garden theme too it. The only think I watch on tv any more is HGTV-I love Restore America. My house is going to be photographed for a magazine here, so when it is, I'll let ya know, and you can see it.

Wow Isis that is awesome! Your place sounds beautiful. Well if I am ever doing an historical restoration on the 1880's I might need to call you in as a consultant or if I need any antiques. Hey you are even an 80's girl through and through you have the 1980's and the 1880's covered!! Well good luck on the magazine article you should defintly post it here so I can see it. And I would love to see your place when it is all complete. I'm always in need of a good vacation and perhaps PA might just be the place!! Maybe you might just have to send out invitations for your get together maybe just Retro Guru's and above???

I think the idea of a FASTREWIND get-together is fantastic.I'd love to meet you all and have a beer with you (pizza optional).I'm hoping to move to London for a while in the New Year and hopefully i'll get to meet some of the local Rewinders there,if they're up for it. But I think the best idea of all is from ISIS,i'd love to come to the US for some giant convention for us all.Only problem for me is i'm scared of flyin'. Truly the Smayt is a wuss.

Speaking of the A Team, I heard that thre are plans in the works to make it into a feature film. I'm still not sure what I think about that.

TresFoxy- You know I never thought of that, about the 1880's-to the 1980's, that is pretty freaky. Maybe I was an 80's rewinder in a past life too, hahaha. I think I got rewound too far.

We could all meet at a hotel or something. They have banquet halls and stuff. It's somewhere public so people will feel a little more safe. I mean face it, we really don't know eachother very well and some of us could be dodgy characters. (myself included)
