When Randy takes Julie to the Rock club where the Plimsouls are playing, what was the name of the club?
Also, when Randy complains to Julie that her freinds in the Valley listens to too much Techno rock, what was he referring to?

For some reason I think that club might have been The Whiskey A Go Go...I'm not sure though. Also when Randy said "techno rock" I think he meant songs like "Electric Avenue."

I'm wondering if techno rock was early New Wave. They used allot of synthesizers and less instruments. I'm not sure, it's just a guess.

a guess here would have to be that the Vals listened to stuff that was made from synthesizers and the punks listened to stuff that was made with guitars, drums and bass:REAL music.

It does seem odd that he said techno in 1982. That's more of a late 80's term. I thought the punks and the new wavers weren't that different, but I guess you have to have a story.I know they are guitar based, but I wouldn't consider the Plimsouls "punk". Maybe Fear or the Circle Jerks.

Now it's The Viper Room. Same one owned by Johnny Depp and where River Phoenix died on the sidewalk.
I don't know about the Techno comment..I assumed it meant anything on Top 40 radio at the time...Electric Avenue was one of those songs..
