I was going to post about Prom Night in 70s Rewind, and then I found out it was made in 1980. I just ordered Prom Night 1 2 3 & 4. I know I saw 1 and 2 (1 would be great if they didnt force so much Saturday Night Fever-type disco dancing on ya!) and part 2 Mary Lou is actually a pretty good horror movie. I dont think I saw 3 & 4 yet.

I love the disco music, I think it is cool in the movie. I never saw any of the sequels, but I always wondered from the title of the 2nd, did it have anything to do with the first one? And does any of the other ones have anything to do with those 2 and are any of the same people in them?

I love Prom Night 1&2. I used to watch 2 with my older sister on the weekends while my parents went out to the bar. PN 2 wasn't scary but it had some great death scenes. Wasn't the chick in part 2 possessed or something from one of the characters in the first? I don't really rememeber because it's been so long. Anyone remember the plot? I just rememeber the gore.

Devolution here, Ali, you are one of the only people that thinks like me on this sight. How great was it in Prom night 2 when the girl gets smashed by the lockers in the locker room?

I didn't like the original or 3 or 4, but Oh my GOD! I LOOOOOVE "Hello Mary Lou: Prom Night 2"!!!
It's so deliciously odd and stereotypical at the same time. This was another one I watched so many times I had the lines memorized.
There were some pretty cool creepy effects. I love it when Vicki disappears through the chalk board in detention. Or that creepy merry-go-round horse with the red eyes. Watching Vicki morph into Mary Lou is fun. For a cheapo film, the acting is good.
Oh jesus - and the high school slut is divine. She blows the A/V nerd to get the Homecoming Queen votes fixed.
I could go on and on. I need to see it again.

The sequals have nothing to do with the Jamie Lee Curtis original.
The 2nd and 3rd are kinda Nightmare on elm streetish about a crazy dead prom queen named Mary Lou. The 2nd is actually pretty good. The 3rd is terrible. The 4th installment again has nothing to do with the first 3. It is about a crazy priest stalking and killing some teenagers on Prom Night.

I bought them all on vhs. They havent talked me into a dvd player yet! half.com has em for about $2- a piece. Prom Night, the original, probably is the best one. Prom Night 2 (a girl is possesed by the spirit of a tampy ne'er-do-well named MaryLou Maroney(nothing to do with Prom Night 1) is sort of Nightmare On Elm Street-ish and a little on the kinky side(I mean, that friggin rockin horse, man!!!!!) part 3 havent seen and part 4 havent seen but I've heard its TOTALLY unrelated...I dont even think the kids are anywhere NEAR a prom!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have only seen the original and I totaly loved it. I saw the title mentioned in Jamie Lee's filmography (and being such a big fan of Halloween 1 & 2, I decided to give it a shot.) so I rented it. So awesome.
The dancing was great! The plot was awesome! The ending was sad and dramtic! The climax ruled! And most of all, I loved the clothes and the music! Can anybody tell me where I can find that song called Prom Night?? I have searched on Kazza, but there is no title even close.
Anyways, I loved that movie and I must have watched that five day rental about ten times!

I loved that movie too, I always remember the girl who was the "bad" girl in it, I think her name was Wendy- she looked exactly like my babysitter from when I was little, and my baby sitter actually drove a red corvette stingray just like hers in the movie, does anyone know the name of the actress that played her, and if she was ever in anything else? (My babysitter was really nice though, nothing like that character)
