I think Willy Wonka is one of those movies that should just be left alone like planet of the apes what a crock that was.

I also read about that one too.
I don't know about anyone else, but it seems strange that Tim Burton is going direct a sequel to Willy Wonka & The Chocalate Factory!
Burton has a thing for movies with a dark, heavy, moody, depressing feel. Edward Scissorhands, Ed Wood, Beetlejuice, The Nightmare Before Christmas, and The Planet of The Apes remake, all have that creepy Gothic look.
So why would he want to remake this one? Unless he either hated the original, or wants a more scary version of it?
I have a feeling that a lot of people will be turned off by the new version.
Don't get the wrong idea: I actually like Tim Burton's movies, but his wanting to direct a sequel to Willy Wonka is a strange choice.

I totally agree. The greatest example of the strangeness in Tim Burton films would be in the Batman films. He directed the first two and after those you can see a big difference in the movies. I prefer the first two Batman films because of the gothic and creepy feel. But for him to do a children's movie like Willy Wonka? That will be interesting.
