I like that movie also. Even though it is completely outdated, it's fun to someones imagination of a computer having a mind in the 80s. I haven't seen it in awhile but now I'm feeling nostalgic and will have to watch it again.

Very cute movie, one of my fav's too, I loved it, the soundtrack was pretty good too. I would also like to have this on DVD, my VHS copy is getting old.

I sorta agree with Ali here. Yes, "Electic Dreams" is obviously outdated, but is lightweight fun.
Keep in mind that this movie came out at a time when personal computers for home use were beginning to skyrocket in popularity and sales, so it was inevitable that Hollywood would make a movie like this.
The movie was even dedicated to the Univac One, which was one of the earliest supercomputers built in the 1950's, in the days when computers were only for businesses or government and were the size of several refridgerators!
If the movie seems like a music video, that's because it was directed by Steve Barron, who directed many classic videos in the 80's, including:
"Take On Me" by A-Ha "Don't You Want Me?" by The Human League "Money For Nothing" by The Dire Straits "Billie Jean" by Michael Jackson Several videos for Toto and Bryan Adams ...and numerous others!
