David Cronenberg's Dead Ringers (1988) shows Jeremy Irons as twin brothers who are gynecologists where they take full advantage that nobody can tell them apart, until their relationship deteriorates where one of them falls for an actress played by Genevieve Bujold.
With the announcement that it's going to come out on Blu-ray pretty soon from Shout Factory, let's share some memories on what you remember about Dead Ringers!

I don't remember much about Dead Ringers, other than I saw it at the theater, and it was a creepy movie. And Jeremy Irons is a good actor.

Jeremy Irons won the Oscar later for Reversal of Fortune, but I remember that, in a terrific touch, he thanked David Cronenberg in his acceptance speech. He may have won for that film, but Dead Ringers is really his best performance. He's amazing in a typically dark, creepy, and depressing Cronenberg film.

I'm a huge David Cronenberg fan, though I didn't see "Dead Ringers" for the first time until the 200X's. Horrific film; very freaky, disturbing, but extremely well-done. Jeremy Irons is very convincing in playing two different people with slightly different mannerisms, etc. If I didn't know better, I would have thought he actually did have a twin.
IIRC, this film is actually loosely based on a true story about two twin brothers (who were doctors, I believe) & who did have an unhealthy "connection". Both did both eventually die.
