A white American woman travels in South America. She buys an antique from street vendor and is arrested. She is accused stealing national treasure. She is in jail for many years. She almost kills herself by swallowing sleeping pills (didn't success). She almost has a physical fight with another woman inmate. The whole movie is about her long struggle in jail in South America.
