So you're stuck on an island for the rest of your life...don't worry...you're loved ones are there...all the food and water you need. You have an old floor model TV and a top loading VHS player...but only one movie from the 80's...the only 80's movie you'll ever see again and you'll watch it over and over and over....which one ya gonna pick?! *Yes...I know...electricity...you built a generator powered by the tides!
I'm not proud of my choice, and it's not even my favorite movie, and I can't even explain why...it's my go to movie that I continue to watch over and over....don't judge...it's...it's...FLASHDANCE!!

Great topic. Hmmmmm. I think I'd have to say Funny Farm. I can watch that movie over and over again! Yep, I'm sticking with it!

Blue Velvet. Best movie from the 80s. Hands down.
P.S. Flashdance and Funny Farm are both excellent choices, guys. While many people would consider Flashdance a guilty pleasure, they forget that it is incredibly well put together--Adrian Lyne is a really stylish director--with Oscar nominations for best editing and best cinematography in addition to music. And Funny Farm is also a pro job, directed by George Roy Hill, that is so funny. It's that rare American film that approaches the droll humor of the UK's Ealing Studios films of the 40s and 50s.

Highly entertaining and incredibly fast-paced.. I'll never grow tired of watching Big Trouble In Little China (1986) !

I couldn't have The Karate Kid because it would kill me too much to not then be able to watch parts 2 and 3. And I couldn't imagine going the rest of my life without any horror in it so I pick The Shining.

For reals? I mean... I know he looked like me when he was younger, but now?! Your loyalty Helen - it's what I like about you. Loyal to a fault. In this case a *major* fault, but we won't dwell on that...
Instead we'll dwell on the fact that The Next Karate Kid starred a DOUBLE OSCAR WINNER which makes it by far the best KK movie without question.
I am a man who won't fight for your honor I'd be insane to try such an epic task We'll live very briefly With a hormonal imbalance That what it is when you act stupid for love*
*Original lyrics. Beautiful, no?

Nice re-write Logan...if you can sing as HIGH as Peter Cetera...I bet Helen would love you for just that alone. Bonus if you can drink a sip of water without it oozing out the side of your mouth...

Usually when I'm serenading Helen I do my best Travolta dance moves (Perfect - not Saturday Night Fever). That normally involves some powerful crotch thrusts, followed by some 'get that away from me' crotch punches by Helen which leave me singing as high as Cetera. My falsetto "OooOOOoooo no baby pleeEEEAAase don't go" has a perfect pitch as she storms out. And yes, one quick crack to the jaw as she goes leaves me drinking and smiling like Cetera. Honestly - it's like he's in the room. Which is maybe why everyone else leaves the room...
