you definitely got a good point there Pitts but do you think bacon's stache looks as bad as this -
John travolta looking like Dr. fu manchu in - the taking of pelham 123 remake.

What about this one the thriller - Lisa from 1990 which is directed by poltergeist 3 director Gary Sherman and features a performance from ex Charlie angel - cheryl ladd, can't find a trailer for it anywhere!
Anyone ever checked this one out and if so is it any good?
Also made in the same year as - Lisa (1990)
The comedy - ski school starring dean Cameron.
Anyone know if it's good for a laugh?

This thread is just what I was looking for. Should I watch these movies?: Used Cars, Quicksilver, The Pick-Up Artist. None of them have more than two and a half stars, but who knows.

I really like Used Cars. It´s one of the best comedies of all time IMO. Huge cast and so many fun jokes. It has that early 80s politically incorrect feel that i love.
We talked about Quicksilver a while ago, i like the film. Maybe not very strong storywise but you gotta love all the familiar faces and the upbeat soundtrack.
Some people don´t like The Pick-up Artist at all but i do. I think that it´s nice romantic comedy with a strong cast but keep in mind that i´m a BIG fan of both Ringwald and Downey Jr.

Darnit. USED CARS was on the other day. I shoulda watched it.
How about LABYRINTH? Its playing on the big screen at the local theatre Thursday for Retro Night. If yes, does it need to be seen in the theatre or is a TV viewing sufficient? Thanx in advance for any input

Depends how much of a fan you are. Me personally, I probably won't be seeing the theatre re-release because I already own on DVD and due to multiple viewings, it's pretty much become just an O.K. movie to me now. So I say home viewing is good enough.

I actually haven't seen Used Cars, so I'll have to check it out...I have a copy on DVD...just never got around to it.
Coincidently, very recently just watched Quicksilver (Love) and The Pick Up Artist (Like).
I'm not sure about Labyrinth...vague childhood memories....thinking the magic might be gone for me on this one...but may check it out again someday....

Project X is a good movie. It was an HBO staple in the late 80's, it's animal/political. If you don't like animal abuse, don't watch this movie. It's not Planet of the Apes bad, but it's just a bit tough.

I second the motion on Project X, definitely a forgotten but entertaining 80s film and HBO staple. Broderick is his usual likeable self, and he and Helen Hunt have some nice chemistry. And how can you not like apes? While it's a breezy entertainment, it does make some effective points about animal testing and abuse. High marks for that.
