Last year, US film company Olive Films got our attention by releasing Fire With Fire and The Boogens on dvd and blu-ray. But there's more coming in the very near future. Check it out !
Irreconcilable Differences (special edition) (1984) release date february 19th
A New Life (1988) release date february 26th
And the one i'm looking forward to the most :
Plain Clothes (1988) release date february 26th
Further releases include re-issues of The Running Man, The Monster Squad and Highlander 2: The Quickening. All will be available on dvd and blu-ray !

Oh yes, i ordered Ticks right when it was first announced. I've read somewhere that it will have a commentary by director Tony Randel and actor Clint Howard. If it's only half as good as last year's The Boogens, it'll still be worth the money !
Plain Clothes is fun. I still have a tape laying around somewhere which i recorded from tv somewhere in the early 90's or something. The dvd / blu-ray upgrade is a very welcome addition to my collection !

Plain Clothes shares more than a few similarities with tv series 21 Jump Street. I always thought it was a fun movie, and i'm definitely upgrading to blu-ray.. no doubt about that !
I never saw Irreconcilable Differences before, but i think i'm gonna give this new release a try.
Still not sure about A New Life though. Has anyone seen it, by any chance ?

Plain Clothes is good fun, nice chemistry between Arliss Howard and Suzy Amis. (Whatever happened to these two solid performers?)
Irreconcilable Differences comes off as a "star" vehicle for young Drew Barrymore beacuse she was just so darn cute in E.T. Despite the good cast, it has very little of interest and no replay value to me.
Although it's a little better than Irreconcilable Differences, A New Life is not one of Alan Alda's better films. It's just too generic.
The latter two are not terrible, by any means, they are just like so many undistinguished films from the 80s--safe, plain vanilla, forgettable.

Hmm.. i might have to reconsider getting Irreconcilable Differences, i think. Crash's comments made me a little less enthousiastic than i was before.
Still, we seem to agree about Plain Clothes though.. that's good !

Also coming from Olive Films on march 26th, this 1987 gritty drama starring Jack Nicholson and Meryl Streep. Both were nominated for an Oscar for their roles in this one !
