"A teenage delinquent who goes on a drunken joyride is left in jail overnight by his parents in the hope that he might learn a lesson from it. But events follow which result in the boy spending far longer behind bars than anyone had foreseen." (IMDb)
This was a good made-for-tv drama directed by Robert Greenwald (Xanadu). The touching story was written by Jennifer Miller who also wrote the decent William Shatner flick, The Babysitter (1980).
Emilio Estevez does a good job as Danny Caldwell, the frustrated teen. His real life father Martin Sheen is his dad Frank and Jane Alexander his mother Sandy. Both were excellent. I also liked the co-stars Kenneth McMillan, Ed Lauter, Matt Clark and very young Deborah Foreman.
There was a cool record shop scene where you can see a guy buying a Xanadu soundtrack album
The soundtrack included few rockin´ tunes from artists like Billy Idol, Stiff Little Fingers and The Ruffians.
Excellent film for the fans of good (and educational) tv-movies.
