The great film Lovelines from 1984, is now available on a made to order DVD from the WB archives, and amazon. It's just a straight copy from the copy in the vault, but I heard it's good quality and sound.

Valley Dated Julie From 'Valley Girl' (allegedly!)

“They’re the two hottest tickets in a red-hot battle of the bands.. and now they’ve got the hots for each other”
Coldwater Canyon and Malibu High are two infamously warring schools on the brink.. well at least the brink of a Battle of the Bands competition.
Piper and the Firecats are the talent of Malibu, and in the hours they aren’t jamming in preparation for the contest, they’re playing pranks on the students of Coldwater Canyon High.
However, these devilish dolls soon get a taste of their competition in the form of Racer, an all-guy group fronted by Rick Johnson who quickly captures Piper's attention. This battle of the bands is so on now!
"Lovelines" is an obscure, but quite charming film. The tunes are addictively 80's and you'll have a blast watching the band battle scenes.

who'd have thought police academys michael winslow would be the main selling point of a movie, saying that he was fun in police academy and its many sequels.

Someone recently put the full film on youtube to enjoy. I know some of you like to wait for VHS, which is cool.

I'd never heard of this movie before but it certainly looks like a movie I would have liked back in 1984. =)

I had never seen this movie when I ordered the MOD DVD a few months ago. This has to be one of the best blind buys I've ever made!
When I started watching I knew I was in for a treat. It is one of those movies that truly embodies the 80's in every way possible: from the silly plot, the awesome soundtrack, and an epic Battle of the Bands.
Don't forget the movie's namesake, the LoveLines party line answering service: the 80's answer to the internet!
If you haven't seen this movie, I highly recommend it. The movie will totally put a smile on your face, and if it doesn't... you may be dead inside!
