Is anybody familiar with this little underrated biopic from 1982?
Jill Clayburgh plays Barbara Gordon, a documentary filmmaker who becomes addicted to Valium, goes through a difficult withdrawal with her boyfriend being abusive in order not to get her medical help, getting locked up in a mental institution and then makes a long road to recovery in order to complete her film.
It was based on Gordon's memoir of the same name and co-stars along the likes of Nicol Williamson, Geraldine Page and Dianne Wiest, as well as featuring small parts from Joe Pesci, John Lithgow and Daniel Stern. The film was also notable for being the first producing credit of uber-producer Scott Rudin. The film however, received poor reviews during its release and flopped at the box office.

Never seen it but it´s on my wanted list. The cast looks awesome and this was Deborah Foreman´s first feature film.

I like Jill Clayburgh, but this movie is dreadful. Nichol Williamson, an otherwise accomplished actor, overacts to the heavens.
