Trying to remember the name of a movie.. It was about a group of misfits who build a space ship out of an old tilt-a-whirl and meet teen-age aliens. One of the characters names was Wolfgang. Any help?

Am I crazy, or would typing some of those words into a google search not bring Explorers up right at the top?
Just done it - whole of the first page was 'Explorers'.
Didn't want to sound rude, but it is pretty funny how contrasting the movie requests on here are...
"It had a guy wearing gloves... and I think it was from the 80's, but maybe from the 60's, 70's, or 90's"
"About an Extra-Terrestrial who befriends a boy named Elliot and they go flying on a BMX bike"
Anyway, back to the point; that poster looks like the UK Quad. Terrible poster. What's the deal with the 'O' not having the explosion of light used in the film? It's like an incomplete design! Kinda sums up the movie...
