I've recently acquired a number of films starring Jay Underwood. Aside from "The Boy Who Could Fly", in which he didn't speak (apart from three words at the end), I was interested to see him as Chip in the "Not Quite Human..." series of films.
I read a review of the first one "Not Quite Human" (1989) which really trashed it at every level. Well I only read reviews to get an idea of the story, and not accept the opinions. I thought that this was a nice uncomplicated entertainment film.
The second one in the series "Not Quite Human 2" follows Chip as he develops a personality - did I say he was an Android?. And this too was okay. I'll admit that the third one "Still Not Quite Human" seem to lose its way with the storyline. Chip was more human and this lessened the impact. Perhaps the series would have been better left just as two films.

And of course we can't forget his great turn as Bug ("What's his last name, Spray?"), perfectly bringing to life the lowlife sleaze I'm sure many of us knew in high school at one time or another, and also making a nice foil for Buck to help move him along in his development.
