just looking on imdb and found a list of interest to me that someone (could well be a fellow member of the rewind) has compiled- 150 of there favourite 80s b movies - http://www.imdb.com/list/7xdzgV9lZSc/ .some great titles in there,he seems to have very similar tastes to myself!
any titles in there you would or would not have on your own list !
zero boys, the young warriors and april fools day all in his top ten!
this person could well be the twin i never knew i had!

Close but no cigar guys [Big Grin] [Big Grin]

I own about 80 of those so i still have lots of collecting to do.
But there are so much more great "obscurities" that are not on that list.

Very nice list though!

Am I the only one who thinks he's missed the definition of 'b-movie' by a long distance?

Loads of those are movies that most movie watchers would never classify as a b-movie, as they were headline movies in their own right when released and have remained popular and well known.

B-movies indeed..... [Roll Eyes] [Mad]

I agree Paul.. but it is hard for me to establish the line on 'what is and is not' a B-movie, because we have such an indepth movie knowledge on here. A true B-movie to me is a movie not produced by a major studio with actors that aren't really actors or at least I've never seen them before.. ha

Yeah, it´s a fine line.
One man´s B flick as another man´s grade A jewel.

For some people all that comes from the 80s is b-cheese.
It´s just so wrong...

For instance..

"Just One of the Guys" and "Modern Girls" from that list are in my Top 20 from the 80's. I really don't consider either film a B-movie, but can see why others just might.

I've never really liked the term "B movie" for anything made after 1960 or so. The term originally referred to movies made specifically for the bottom half of a double feature back in the day. They were usually low budget genre "programmers" with second-tier stars and short running times. Outside of drive-ins, which now just run two "A" films back to back, intentionally designed double features don't really exist any more, nor do movies made specifically to be the "B" films. The B films of yesterday--horror, action, and the 1940's equivalent of today's disposable-fall-mystery-thriller-starring-Ashley-Judd films--are now all "A" studio films. [Smile]

That said, this place has done so much to ignite interest in really great, forgotten treasures of the 80s such as "Night of the Comet" and "Night of the Creeps." Next for re-discovery for many folks, I think, would be "The Hidden," "The Philadelphia Experiment," "Wavelength," "Without a Clue," and "TAG: The Assassination Game."

great list overall, but no tuff turf, the party animal, band of the hand, wisdom or class of 1984 [Mad] saying that it is his personal faves and not mine!
more to the point would you class the movies i've mentioned above as being b movies [Confused]
if only he had kept it simple and not added the b [Smile]
