I think the film was based on the game, so please forgive me.

i think they got this one just right with a excellent reproduction of jerry goldsmith's score considering the c64's capabilities, you actually feel as if your playing as rambo! "murdoch, i'm coming to get you!"

No other machine looked this dynamic in the arcades at the time and I think that's why it got so much attention. It is a great game though too.

Unfortunately I wasn't fortunate enough as a kid to have a C64.
Did you guys check out the new C64 that's available. Paul posted a link to it in another thread. I really would like to get it.

I love games from all eras, but have a major soft spot for old school games.

My older brother is a gamefreak. He has at least 16 different consoles and a nice game collection.
I´ve played some x-box games but Sega Saturn and N64 were the last consoles i really liked.

The version that I'm talking about didn't get released until 2009, but I've had a lot of fun playing it. I remember a thread where someone mentioned it and of course once Ronnie said she was interested .. I had to try to beat her at it.
Overall, if you are a huge fan of the original "Ghostbusters" and the spinning around of 1st person shooters doesn't bother you (I must admit it makes my head woosy at times).. then I highly recommend this game.
Still the legend in first person shooters though is "Goldeneye 007" for the Nintendo 64.

Warrior.. I think the "Ghostbusters" PS3 version might be the best gameplay, but for coop play if I remember correctly .. it seems like the wii version was the way to go.

Would you believe there was a time in my youth when I was actually addicted to playing this atrocity. When I think of the countless hours spent just mindlessly going back and forth from port to port collecting shells...grrrr...what a waste!

Rambo was a great game, aTomiK. Almost impossible to clock.
Valley, as much as I love the movie, I could never get to grips with Top Gun on the NES. I seem to remember it taking forever to get going... I'd long to see an aircraft carrier, a Mig, anything but screens and screens of clouds!
I thought the LCD handheld got to the point a lot quicker.
To me, Afterburner was what Top Gun should have been.
I also liked the fact that back then, they pretty much made a game out of any movie, it didn't necessarily even have to be related to the film: just a game with those characters and the title. Who could forget these awesome, but totally random, movie tie-ins?
Stupidly difficult but addictive duelling epic.
Yes, its a Raquel Welch movie from the 1960s, but who cares?
