But what about a Rewind movie night??..the whole Weird Science review got me thinking.......It's so much fun to discuss a movie with someone when you watched it together! How many times have you walked out of the theater after a great movie and go back and forth with your company about your favorite parts and laugh and relive it fresh in your minds?
I know most of us here own Weird Science.....I'm sure even the teen top ten we all own.....so who would be down for an 80's movie night with a classic we all own?
Could we all vote on what we want? Set perimeters for when you should watch it? Questions we want to know from Rewinders after they watched it?
Sure would be fun to comment like we always do but like we all watched it in the same theater!
Am I a dork? yes?
When you guys did April Fools before a few people participated I believe....we could do this????

Muffy.. you know I'm always up for a Rewind Movie Night..
I've found it is extremely difficult to coordinate watching it at the exact same time because of all the different time zones and work schedules, but I do think it is an excellent idea and will be a blast if we can make it happen.

My two cents: I love Back To The Future, but I've seen it twice in the past 9 months. Once for Willy's BTTF Quiz and then on the big screen for the 25th Ann. I could go a while without seeing it again. But I'd watch it if it's the one everyone else wants to watch. No big deal.
Atomik, you and I can set up a night for Chained Heat

Both movies, Sixteen Candles and Can't Buy Me Love, are a-ok with me. Maybe we should do a double feature!

So have we decided what we're watching yet? Because this is exactly like going to the movies for real!
Sixteen Candles, since every 80's fan worth their weight in legwarmers and Swatches owns this.

I vote Sixteen Candles...this is one of my wife's favs, so I'm sure I can convince her to watch as well. My work schedule is fairly sporadic, so I worry about being able to watch with everyone at the same time...though if not...I'll committ to at least watching it on the same day....

This is awesome! I can't wait to watch it with everyone....i'd be down for a double feature also but since every one's gotta own 16 Candles we should do it first!
Maybe CBML next?
My thought is since the time zones and work schedules.....i'm a weirdo that has the middle of the week off. Should we pick a few days span? what's better? any ideas? I can do it anytime really.........cause I watch movies in the morning....or late at night...workdays, off days haha <- makes movies a priority!

Trying to watch a movie in the daytime for me is like trying to build a towering tent city with playing cards in front of a loudly volumed speaker playing "Billie Jean"...with the BASS up high...it just ain't happinin'! My schedule fluxuates on a 10 week rotational basis with some nights and some days...so always hit or miss for me. I know the upcoming week for me is Mon, Tues, Wed off, then days (7am-7pm) for Thurs - Sat...so basically, any night next week. Again, if not doable...I'll watch on the same day at the very least...

* State a deadline (say, Noon GMT on Friday 29 Jan).
* Ban all online discussion of the movie from the point the deadline is posted online until the deadline passes (so as to avoid undue influences being posted).
* Everyone taking part has to watch the movie before the deadline.
* Once the deadline passes, go for it!
I think this is the best (only) way to do this, with the global nature of the board's membership. It's up to you to work out when the deasline time is in your timezone. And up to you to watch the movie before said deadline.
I am happy to set this up, and will start the ball rolling. Watch out for the Movie Discussion Thread going up now!!!
