I can't remember the movie.. but the bootleg cover art was way better than the studio release even.
The same thing happened to me on the movie "Out of Bounds" recently. I thought I found the dvd, but instead it was just a DVD-R with a great ad for it.

I remembered the movie.. I prefer the cover art below of "Night of the Creeps" over any of the studio released DVDs. I realize this is just the movie poster turned into cover art.. but way better in my opinion.

Ronnie I remember seeing that DVD somewhere also.......I thought it was just released in a different Region? is it totally a bootleg?
Valley when you said "I can't remember the movie" I thought you meant Milly/Willy I almost died!
Now see that NOCreeps art is beautiful!!! that's being creative......like they did in the 80s with VHS. Why it makes it hard for me to actually get rid of any of my VHS.
My Something Special VHS looks like this...i've always joked it looks like a elementary sex ed tape!! ha!

muffy, you are probably right. i just read about so many people transferring movies to dvd and the quality being so horrible..grrr...
that's the same coverbox i have for my movie as well. i worked at a video store for 4 years and when i was finally leaving, they transferred a ton of vhs rentals for sale. this was one of them. i think i got it for 3 or 4 dollars. the box was pretty beat up, but the tape was in good condition.
i kind of like the cover art that i posted above. pamela segall (sp) did such a great job...like joyce hyser did in just one of the guys.
valley - i remember that cover art!

I bought it. The quality sucks. It was NO better than a vhs, and it may actually have been worse than my video.

I had a UK version of an oop print movie, was also region free and I think the age number/rating was 15. It was pretty good.

All depends what they used as a source. In the case of 'Something Special' they used cave prints. On the upside; it was very cheap.

I saw this movie when it first came out and have been wanting to see it again for years. At this point I think I would settle for any copy of the movie, bootleg or whatever else. I hate how these movies are impossible to find and ever the crapy transfers are highly over priced!
