I've always quite enjoyed Larry Cohen's thriller Special Effects and have the region 1 MGM Dvd and will probably look at upgrading to the Blu when possible!
Eric Bogosian plays a right sleazebag in it!
I wonder if Cohen's previous movie Blind Alley aka Perfect Strangers will get a release from them soon as well?

Larry Cohen is always worth checking out. He has some of the best screenplay ideas around, though sometimes they are kind of rough in the execution. He's very underrated. Of all the stuff that he's done, I like Black Caesar, Hell Up in Harlem, It's Alive, God Told Me To (my favorite), Q, The Stuff, I the Jury, Perfect Strangers, Special Effects, It's Alive III, A Return to Salem's Lot, Best Seller (excellent mainstream Cohen film), Phone Booth, and Cellular. In such a long career, he did over a dozen solid screenplays--and I haven't even seen a lot of his TV stuff--not to mention he directed a bunch of those films too. Great, underrated talent.

Q, the Winged Serpent is excellent. Michael Moriarty's performance is fantastic.
And back in this thread, Call Me has never had a DVD release in North America. It's an interesting little film. Come on, a DVD release for it and Lady Beware!

Where did you find this out? I can't see it listed on Wiki for their upcoming releases, nor on their site.

Jeebus! Talk about lack of info. I find that a lot on movie distributor sites though - they seem to be the last to update their listings. Kino is the same.
