"Weird Science" the tv series .. not the movie. I realize that it came out in the 90's, but it was based on the 1985 movie. I remember it being on the USA Network, though I only caught it occasionally. Well, after watching the movie recently I decided to give the tv series a viewing.
The tv series had Vanessa Angel as Lisa, Michael Manaserri as Wyatt, John Mallory Asher as Gary, and Lee Tergesen as Chett (they gave him a second 't' in the tv series?).
It followed the movie premise at the beginning and then seemed to spin off into "I Dream of Jeannie" or "Bewitched" episodes where Gary and Wyatt learn life lessons the hard way.
The first few episodes were atrocious and extremely hard to watch. It started to get better around the 6th episode, but not enough to make me want to watch the entire series. There were a few surprises as guest stars, but not as many as I'd hoped. I think I watched about 12 episodes and then called it. Vanessa Angel was actually great as Lisa.. but everyone else were just a joke in comparison to their movie counterparts.
However, I've read where people thought the tv series was better than the movie and considered it a fav. Plus, I was amazed to find out that it last 5 seasons with a total of 88 episodes.
Just wondered if anyone else ever watched it?

Muffy .. I actually got the first disc of the DVD set of season 1 sent to me through Netflix. I still have the other discs in my queue, but I'm not sure I'm gonna watch them yet.
I think aTomik summed it up well.

I watched this show occasionally every once in awhile back when it was on USA. But it never really caught my attention enough to make me fan. I was hooked on shows like Quantum Leap, The Wonder Years, Dream On, and the 90's Nickelodean shows at the time...so this show was just lost amongst all those great shows for me.
