"Cover Up" was a hidden gem of from the 80's. It only lasted one season, but was just a blast to watch every week.

Cover Up (1984) - Opening Credits

Gotta enjoy this cheesy 'Rambo' meets 'American Gigolo' opening credits!

Dani Reynolds (Jennifer O'Neill) thinks that she has the perfect life, a perfect job, she's a renowned fashion photographer, and has a loving husband. But things change for her when her husband is killed. She learns that her husband wasn't the mild mannered person she thought he was. It seems that he was a government agent who works with no official government backing. She then recruits Mac Harper (Jon-Erik Hexum) an ex-Green Beret to help her find out what happened to her husband. ~ courtesy of imdb

This show is great to watch now for all the 80's actors/actresses that made guest appearances.. Terry Kiser, Sheree J. Wilson, John Reilly, Clu Gulager, Kimberly Foster, and Tia Carrere.

But I saved the best two for last..

For anyone that wondered what happened to Samantha from "Valley Girl", you can catch Tina Theberge in an episode of Cover Up called fittingly "Black Widow".

And probably my fav episode of Cover Up is called "Murder in Malibu" and if you thought Heather Thomas looked good in a bikini in "The Fall Guy" .. you haven't seen nothing yet!

As much fun as this show was for me, I must warn you before you watch it that it will always be marred by the tragic on set death of Jon-Erik Hexum. After finishing a scene in which he fired a revolver with blank rounds, there was a long delay. Bored by the delay, as a lark, he put the gun to his temple and said "Let's see if I get myself with this one". He didn't know that the blanks used on film sets are actually dangerous at close range. Several hours later, Jon-Erik Hexum was pronounced brain dead. Such a sad incident that I will always remember.

Despite this information.. I still highly recommend checking this show out..

Muffy.. I've looked around, but the only way that I know to watch it now is the dvd boxset. I haven't seen it since it first aired, but remember how much I fun it was to watch.

aTomiK.. it is totally a show that you would have enjoyed.

One of the best shows of the decade, another classic from Glen A. Larson.

Hexum could've easily been the Brad Pitt of his day, for the man had great comic timing (first glimpsed in Voyagers) as well as being able to do the action scenes.

Cover Up never really got into its stride but attained an immortal cult status. Remember Mac's replacement: Jack Striker? That poor guy (actor Anthony Hamilton) shuffled off the mortal coil after contracting AIDS.

Cover Up was what the 80s were all about. Someone needs to bring out the DVD set!

I remember my parents used to watch this. I wonder what Jon Erik Hexum would look like today. He was one gorgeous specimen. It was so sad the way that he died.

I was reading some stuff on E.g. Daily the other day, as I was listening to her music. I discovered that she was with Jon Erik Hexum in the early 80s...not knowing who he was, I read about his death and that he starred in the show Cover Up. I remembered that Valley posted this topic about the show, which I had never seen. I wondered if his insane death was mentioned here, but knowing my Val, he definitely brought it up haha! What a tragedy.. [Frown]

I still would like to see this show, just because I am curious.
