I thought it might be cool to find out how many people are here on a regular basis. So please take a few moments and tell us about yourself.
I'll start.. my Rewind name is Valley .. I've been a member of The Rewind since 2003 .. you can find me mostly in the 80's movie section, but I'll post in every area on occasion .. I enjoy movies from every decade, but the movies and music from the 80's hold a special place in my heart.
The Rewind is great for me because even though I know a few people in my everyday life that appreciate the 80's, it is only here that I have found friends that love the intricate details that we often discuss.
Some of my fav flicks: Valley Girl, Can't Buy Me Love, The Lost Boys, Sixteen Candles, Night of the Comet, Back To the Future, The Goonies, April Fool's Day, The Heavenly Kid, and Night of the Creeps
Some of my fav music: The Cure, Depeche Mode, Echo and the Bunnymen, The Psychedelic Furs, Modern English, Sparks, New Order, Thompson Twins, Concrete Blonde, and Yaz
How about you? Are you out there? Are you reading?

My name is Noms and I've been a regular here for several years. Whilst I love the 80's, its no secret that I also can see a lot of good in modern film and music also.
In real life I'm a Psychiatric Nurse in the British Army.
My fave movies include Trick or Treat, Aliens, Shawshank Redemption, the list could go on an on, I have posted a couple of reviews for the site.
Musically, the more metal the better and my yearly highlight is taking my (now) 12 year old son to the UK Download Festival (headliners this year, Faith No More, Slipknot and Def Leppard!)

Kevin here. I've been visiting the Rewind for just over two years and typically visit at least once a day. I've always loved 80's movies and music, but like Valley, not many people in my life that are as passionate as I am about this decade. My wife loves the 80's too...but maybe not quite as much as me.
I live a happy life...I've been with my wife for 12 years and we have a 3 year old son which keeps us busy. We've remained in our home town so are surrounded by lots of family and friends who remain a big part of our life. I am a Child and Youth Counsellor and have been doing this for over 13 years...I'm a very patient man and that's what makes me good at my job. I play guitar and sing, but typically need a few beers to sing in front of people.
My favorite 80's movies are Gremlins, Karate Kid, The Breakfast Club, Back To The Future. Fav non 80's are It's A Wonderful Life, The Count of Monte Cristo, Shawshank Redemtion. Also love any christmas movie and Halloween/ horror movies...and Westerns.
Favorite 80's music is anything from 1980 to 84...The Cure, Cyndi Lauper, Huey Lewis, Prince, Michael Jackson, Billy Idol, etc Favorite non 80's : U2, REM, The Killers, Indigo Girls. Also love listening to Frank Sinatra and some Jazz tunes.
Cheers! PS...I've from Canada ehhh!

Well, let's see, I'm pettyfan, as you know, and I've been around here for several years now. In real life I'm a teacher.
Like Noms, I like a lot of 80s stuff but I really enjoy modern stuff (movies, TV, etc) too. I am a horor movie junkie. I'll watch just about any horror movie, no matter how good or bad. I also love Johnny Knoxville movies.
TV-wise I am addicted to Cold Case.
Musically, I am a hard rock fan. I also love, love, love hair metal. I like some country but I hate (C)rap and pop.

Oh well, Jay Lee, 32, reformed bad boy, now a peace loving movie geek, into martial arts and japanese garden design.
The true golden era of movies are in my opinion the 70's, 80's and 90's. With heavy emphasis on the 80's Also a huge lover of Asian cinema, and has a ridiculous collection of that too!
Not a big music person, but my taste stretches across almost all genres. Again, leaning mostly towards 80's music, be it, pop, new wave, old school rap or hair metal... it's all good!
Don't remember when I joined the forum... a year and a half ago, maybe?! So to some of the geezers in here, im still a noob
Also, I think im the only Danish person in here..., at least of the regular posters.
(on a related note... That Oprah special on Denmark being the happiest country in the world was the biggest pile of puke I have ever seen! Don't be fooled! wanna know the truth, ask me )
I guess that's it!

I'm Stitchgroover, aka Craig from Australia. I joined the Rewind back in 2004 I think, when I was looking for the name of a TV show (it was "Out of this world").
I live in the southern part of Australia, around where the big bushfires were earlier this year. I work in a computer/communication store, and get to talk all day long, which is great!
Like others here, I love music and movies from all eras, not just the 80's, but since that was the decade in which I grew up, it will always hold a special place in my heart.
My favorite 80's movies are Ferris Bueller's Day off, Malcolm, Gremlins, Fright Night, Return of the living dead.. just to name a few.
I'm a big fan of horror/suspense films, particularly zombie movies. Good or bad, I'll watch'em.
Musically, I like most genres but especially pop music - Kylie, Madonna, I loved Yazoo back in the day, I love love love Jill Sobule, Sheryl Crow, Natalie Imbruglia (and I think Lady Gaga is the best thing to happen to music in years!)

My name is Motley and I've been on here for several years now. In real life, I'm in retail management and consult part-time in logistics and accounting.
I enjoy horror movies, comedies, 60s movies, 70s movies, 80s movies, 90s movies, and even a lot of today's modern cinema. I'm a self professed metalhead (and beer conniseur) but have a wide array of musical interests with the exception of rap and modern country. I enjoy everything else from Depeche Mode to Johnny Cash to early Prince, Slayer, Metallica, Megadeth, Slipknot, Motley Crue (duh on that one), Waylan,Faith No More, Willie, and Merle and many many others and yes I have them all on the same CD.
I also try to attend many concerts yearly and am especially a big fan of music festivals (i.e., I will make the trip to Download one year Noms).
I've met many interesting people on here and have made several friends and hope to make more.

Hello all! Long time no see! I go by J...or EJ though that isnt my real name...but even my closest friends call me by those I am a photographer and have been fortunate enough to be traveling a lot lately. (Hence me being gone for so long). I am getting ready to put out a huge piece on a few struggles in Africa for a company trying to bring awarness to some of the horrific living conditions of children there.
I love movies. All movies. Comedy and I are like this (fingers crossed). I stumbled upon this site a while back trying to find an 80's movie for my sister. Come to find out it was from 79...but it was quickly found for me!
I am not much of a concert goer...but am in LOVE with hockey..swimming..some hard core games of Egyptian Rat Screw (yes card game..if you dont know what it is, I can explain) and cooking. Well cooking because I love to eat!
I love this site, and I think my love rubbed off on one of my brothers. Seems while I was gone, he went stealth and posted some stuff as me. So no I did not buy a Harley Davidson. I cant even ride a pedal bike! He is the one cruising around on that beauty.
I will probably still be gone for a few more weeks, but after that I should be back in full force!! I missed you all. And was so sad that the traveling group I went with...not one liked 80's movies. Really!! It was horrible trying to make conversation with them!

I'm Sam, Sammy, Samhain etc my user name here changes frequently but it will always have some variation of the aforementioned.
I've been here for quite some time.
I work in retail and am glad Black Friday has come and gone for this year.
I'm single and live in North Dakota with my two cats
I love a wide range of music as I could be listening to Sam Cooke one moment and Slayer the next. Not a huge fan though of today's pop or country.
My movie tastes are also wide ranged. I mostly like dramas and movies that feature an unsavoury element.
I love Hockey, baseball and football and actively play fantasy sports for all three.
My current addiction is Facebook and some or their applications with Mafia Wars being my favorite.
Right now I'm hungry for some buffalo wings and thirsty for a mug of Blue Moon Belgian Ale

My name is Mary and I've lived in NYC my entire life. Ive been teaching teenagers for 7 years now, and I really enjoy my job.
One of the reasons that I joined the forum is my love of movies. Some of my favorites from the 80's are The Goonies, Stand By Me, Back to the Future, The Breakfast Club, The Lost Boys, Big, Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, Die Hard, Midnight Run, The Shining, Poltergeist, Tootsie, Secret of My Success, Steel Magnolias, The 'burbs, Terms of Endearment, and The Empire Strikes Back.
Some of my top non-80's movies are The Godfather I & II, Titanic, Saving Private Ryan, Kill Bill Vol. 1, Singin' in the Rain, Shawshank Redemption, The Big Lebowski, M*A*S*H*, Mean Girls, and One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest.
Besides movies, music is one of my passions. I absolutely love the band No Doubt, I've seen them live over 20 times, and I've travelled to 5 different states to see them in concert. Some of my other favorite bands are Fleetwood Mac, The Beatles, The Killers, Coldplay, U2, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Garbage, and Sublime. Although I listen mostly to rock, I also like some hip hop, new wave, 80s pop, freestyle, and disco.
I'm a die-hard Yankee fan (let's go Yanks), and I also like the NY Giants and the NY Rangers. I enjoy playing volleyball, biking, reading, and playing the occasional video game during my free time. I never miss and episode of House, CSI: Las Vegas, Survivor, 30 Rock, or Top Chef.

Well, my name is evilash and I'm a preschool teacher and mom. I'm also working on writing and illustrating a children's book. It was either that or another vampire romance.
In my spare time I of course watch movies and listen to music almost non stop. My daughter and I have dance contests, so far, we're tied. She and I listen to Van Halen, Europe, Journey, Cyndi Lauper, Pat Benatar, Billy Idol, Psychedelic Furs, Breaking Benjamin, Ra, No Doubt, and a lot of 90s rock too. I love to draw, exercise, go to work (it's a fun job!), church, dance, read non-fiction, and play fight with people.
My favorite movies include anything with John Candy, anything John Hughes, Goonies, Overboard, When Harry Met Sally, Fast Times, Pee Wee's Big Adventure, Lost Boys, Fright Night, True Romance, Just Friends, A Christmas Story, of course the Evil Dead Trilogy, and so many more!
I mostly post in 80s movies, but may occasionally venture elsewhere. I've discovered a lot of movies on here and I am very appreciative!

I don't really have much more to add, I'm still in the same job but that could change any day now...
I'm still happily partnered (although I don't think I mentioned that earlier) to my wonderful Sean.
And I still think Lady Gaga is the future of music!

-Real name is Whitney. Yes, just like Whitney Houston...haha.
-Just turned 28 this month, and am actually looking forward to my 30's, believe it or not.
-I work at a government agency that provides recreation for kids and adults with special needs/disabilities. I LOVE my job.
-In my spare time I love to shop, shop, and shop some more. Love hanging out with friends and just laughing like crazy and having fun. I don't take life too seriously.
-Developed a love for the 80's when I was a kid. My older brother and I were latchkey kids so we spent a lot of time watching cable TV which was always showing 80's movies...
-Horror movies are also my passion....the cheesier the better!
-And Stitch, I love Lady Gaga too...She is my guilty pleasure!

Lady Gaga is a cardboard cutout of the next big thing. She'll fade out like everyone else and then the next one will come along. I personally don't see any talent in her. Sad thing is you may be right at the moment. It's amazing how quickly people latch on to someone. That's alot of what's wrong with the music business today: signing no talent acts who are more interested in crazy dress and being controversial in an effort to cover up the lack of talent.
Puts on his fire retardant suit before getting flamed by Lady Gaga fans.
