I once rented on video Tales From The Crypt which featured these three stories: The Man Who Was Death, 'Twas the Nite Before and Dig That Cat ... He's Real Gone.

Me neither. Actually, for years the only way I saw them was "sanitized" back when Fox used to show them on Friday nights. I did manage to watch two hours' worth yesterday.

My best friend just gave me all the DVD sets. My two favorites are pretty early in the game (if you watch them in order): The one with the killer Santa Claus and the one where "Mrs Roper"s husband becomes a taxedermist! I also like the one where prostitute Lea Thompson "sells" her beauty.

I liked mostly the earlier episodes too--And All Through the House (about the crazed Santa), Death of Some Salesman, Collection Complete (the taxidermist one), Ventriloquist's Dummy, and the one about the college frat hazing. I didn't like the last season at all.

yeah, they all pretty much started to suck after season 3. If I had to pick a few favorite episodes, they'd be (in random order):

-All through the House (Season 1): Probably the most classic episode out of all of them..And probably the one episode that stayed truest to the original comic.

-Korman's Kalamity (Season 2): I just dig this one because it's easily the most cheesy and outrageously comical episode out of all of them.

-For Crying Out Loud (Season 2): Again, a very comical episode. Actor Lee Arenberg's Psycho performance in this episode is one of the funniest and best I've seen. And with a cameo performance from the great Iggy Pop and voice over work of the late great Sam Kinison, it's definetly an all around great episode.

-Yellow (Season 3): How they talked Kirk Douglas into doing a Tales from the Crypt episode still baffles me to this day...But I'm glad they did because this episode is great. And it's just a cool thing to me watching Kirk act along side his son Eric Douglas in this one. The twist at the end is just great too..Did I also mention I'm a sucker for war movies??..Probably another big reason why I like this one..lol.

-Split Second (Season 3): I remember watching quite a handful of horror or action movies back in the 80's and 90's that starred Brion James. And the fact that he is easily one of the most menacing and freakishly scary villians you'll ever see on screen made this one a lock to be one of my favorites. He plays his signiture psycho role to a T in this episode. And not only that, but this episode also has one of the most awesome endings...I love it!

-Death of Some Salesmen (Season 5): One of very few post season 3 episodes that will make my favorites list. This one makes my list though just because I'm a big Tim Curry fan and it's great watching him play 3 different roles in this episode.

So...there's my list of favorites..there are more episodes that I would consider to be among my favorites as well..but if I listed all of them..I'd be here all night.
