Awesome indeed! there was a similiar Nic Cage remake topic on some finnish movie site which was also quite funny.

Now this I'd pay to see. A lot of people had high hopes for MM after Dazed & Confused, still, out of all his recent movies Sahara was mildly enjoyable.
See Matt Damon's spot on impression on Letterman.

Matthew McConaughey really killed his career with all those terrible chick flicks. I'm sure they pay really well, but in the long run he's gonna be mostly written off as a joke because of them. I can't think that he wants that. It's kind of a shame. I always thought he could have been a decent action star. It seems ridiculous now, but looking back, coming off of Dazed & Confused, A Time to Kill, Lone Star - and given his good looks, athletic build and Texas swagger - he really could have taken off if he had chosen to go in that direction instead. Sahara kind of offered a small glimpse of what could have been.

You all have to see his great role in The Return of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre aka Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Next Generation (1994) with Renée Zellweger
Talking about a different kind of movie...

His short freakshow-like lobster arms would not let him be an actionstar
I liked him in Dazed, but that was it! His "All right, all right, all right, all right....." His "keep L.I.V.I.N." His annnoying grin, and all those awful movies just destroyed any cred he had with me!
If he continues with those pointless romcoms, he will just end up an insignificant bleep on the movie history radar!

I liked him in Dazed and Confused and I really liked Frailty with he and Bill Paxton too. Sahara was yet another addition to the list of horrible roles he's chosen. We actually went to the movies to see Sahara and walked out like 30 minutes into it....

Frailty and Dazed are great and Contact is my fave movie ever, not because of him though. I agree that Sahara sucked. I turned it off after about 30 minutes too.

I thought Sahara was pretty good. It had that Alan Quartermain vibe where it never seemed to take itself too seriously.
