Do any of the mothers out there have this? Around here the big fad is WEBKINZ. My daughter acts like WEBKINZ is her heroin ("gotta have WEBKINZ, gotta have MORE WEBKINZ") Her school had a Mothers Day Sale today and I was supposed to be working at it. For some reason they had the "bright idea" to sell WEBKINZ at this thing. So now , instead of buying Mommy flowers or a cute I LOVE MOMMY keychain, all these kids are gonna be battling to see who can get their grubby little hands on the WEBKINZ before they sell out. At the last minute I decided NOT to go to the sale - I just dont want to watch the mania - and I especially dont want to have to be the one to tell the kids who DONT get one that the sale has run out of them.
I never want to see another WEBKINZ again.

Thanks goodness that my kids were only interested in it for about a week. It is really annoying.

NowhereGirl, WEBKINZ is a stuffed animal with a code and you use the code to log on to games on a computer. The kids pretty much rip the tag off the doll, throw the doll in the heap and JUST use the code to play online.

I have 2 friends that have gift shops and they sell them there....at the end of April, my one friend had a "Webkin Extravaganza" and I helped with it. I did face painting for the kids. I kind of like them...the stuffed animals are cute...but I like their website because you can play games on it...I am addicted to playing Tile Tower and Goober's Lab, and Quizzy's Word Challenge.
Someone came in my friend's store, and they stole 15 tags off the Webkins. She did catch them, but it was unbelievable that they left the stuffed animals, and stole the tags...because the tags are only worth points for fake money on the website...but they devalue the actual Webkin-because nobody wants it without the code.
I don't think they should have been selling them for Mother's Day..that was teaching kids to think of themselves not their mom.
