1. Boba Fett

 -

With less than 20 minutes of screen time in 'The Empire Strikes Back' & 'Return Of The Jedi' combined, this intergalactic bounty hunter left an indelible mark on 'Star Wars' fans the world over. Boba's origin in Episode II was OK, but Fett will always be remembered as the anonymous assassin; consummate pro who managed to collect not one, but two bounties on Han Solo and put everyone's favourite smuggler on carbonite.

2. Emperor's Guard

 -

Fancier than your average stormtrooper, these silent, crimson sentinels were too cool to forget. Everyone should have an entourage like this just following them around on a daily basis.

3. Viet Cong Sniper

 -

Thanks to a string of impressions and 'South Park', most people remember the Da Nang hooker from 'Full Metal Jacket' few of those who only have that as a reference point for Kubrick's wartime classic will recall the awesome Viet Cong sniper; who effectively holds off an entire platoon in the film's climatic battle sequence. The look on their faces when they discover a diminutive VC strafed half the division is priceless, no wonder 'In Bruges' Colin Farrell, in the event of a race war, wanted the Vietnamese on side!

4. Vincent Coccotti

 -

Sicilian mob enforcer gets into an etymological discussion with Dennis Hopper in 'True Romance': Eggplants, Cantaloupes and Moorish blood just don't get him in a vendetta kinda mood, that's all.

5. Elvis The Mentor

 -

'True Romance' again, Val Kilmer is Elvis; surreal mentor to lifelong fan Christian Slater. The King offers some sagely advice on how to deal with abusive pimps: "shoot him in the face put em' down like a dawg", and what about the legal repercussions King? "pimps get shot everyday, two in the back of the ****ing head; cops throw a party man". Got it, thanks.

6. Captain Koons

 -

Be careful with that timepiece, you know where its been. Hilarity ensues whenever you put Walken on screen with Tarantino's dialogue and this is no exception; one of the funniest scenes in film, bar none.

7. Wooderson

 -

All right, all right, all right. What can I say about this cat that hasn't already been said? If you've seen 'Dazed & Confused' you're already ahead of the game, if you haven't then you must ASAP. I mean that’s the great thing about having the DVD; you get older, it stays the same age.I was initially gonna go with that hazing bitch Simone (Joey Lauren Adams) here as Wooderson, arguably, isn't a minor character, but hey, lets not be slaves to the rule coz you just gotta keep livin' man, L-I-V-I-N.

8. Winston Wolf, Mr Wolf to you

 -

If you have a problem, if no one else can help and if Marseilles Wallace can get a hold of him, maybe your monumental screw-ups can be erased by The Wolf. How does he take his gourmet coffee? "lotsa cream lotsa sugar", now there's an old school goodfella who definitely won't settle for some freeze-dried taster's choice.

9. The Merovingian

 -

French Neo, was The One before he gave it all up for the illusion of 'The Matrix' just outside of 'The Matrix'. Merrovingion was the prodigal son mentioned by Morpheus, he was the man born inside the Matrix who had a chance to change things. But instead chose to spend all his time in a bourgeoisie restaurant with his wife Monica Belluchi, programming (i.e. spiking) cakes with aphrodisiacs, sipping wine and expounding wisdom on the illusory nature of choice. The French, eh?

10. Captain Choi

 -

The Mummy 3: Tomb Of The Dragon Emperor’ was a terrible movie, not a patch on its predecessors, but look out for military operative Choi played with aplomb by gorgeous MTA Jessey Meng. Call me a megalomaniac, but I thought the Dragon Emperor and his partisans had a fair point; I mean what was the alternative there: Mao Tse Tung, that's who, bet Jet Li and his terracotta army don't seem so bad now, do they? With her battle scarred face, deadly martial arts and icy demeanour, Meng and the Chinaman general were the best characters in this otherwise overblown and meandering movie.

Me too, in fact I was going to put up Tarantino's other choice for Go Go Yubari; Kou Shibasaki. Both Kuryiama Chikai and Shibasaki were in 'Battle Royale' and both were up for the role in 'Kill Bill'.

Kou Shibasaki was Mitsuko Sôma in 'Battle Royale', the introverted nerdy girl who develops a taste for sadistic ultraviolence in a bid to survive the game.

Christopher Walken is what acting is all about.

If you've never seen Biloxi Blues, you should. Just to see Walken play Sgt.Toomey is reason enough.

[Big Grin] Burger King of New York. Love it.

Biloxi Blues is one of the few Walken movies I haven't seen yet.

Let's see now:

-Pooter the Clown. If he's a god in Shermer's local live entertainment field, I'd hate to see what his competition looks like. But at least he can take a punch and keep until ticking (at least till the next one comes, anyway)

-the one and only Salacious Crumb. I'm not sure if he serves any purpose other than to laugh maniacally, but he'd be great to bring to social gatherings (by the way, anyone know exactly what the Emperor's Guards' staffs are supposed to do? Unless he imbibes them with Dark Side powers, I'd think they'd be overmatched in an ambush)

-the manager of the Sedgwick Hotel (named Morris P. Grout in the cartoons); he makes a great straight man for our heroes; just love his facial expressions as they start tearing up the dining room (he balks at a mere five grand? And I thought the Sedgwick was supposed to be a high-class place?)

-Bob (last name Hawkins in shooting script), Nicholson's Joker's main henchman. He's really just as sick and unflinching a psycho as his boss, and seems to share his sense of sick pleasure in hurting people. Although we're denied the chance to see he and Batman go at it full tilt one-on-one (why archvillains always feel the need to waste their henchmen for failure when they should know they have a finite number at their disposal, and that wasting tends to discourage new recruits), seeing how warped his mindset is makes him just as scary--plus knowing that in this non-canonical version of the Batman reality he was morally cuplable in the Waynes' deaths adds another layer to him

-Gus Polinski, Polka King of the Midwest (or maybe not). This is the image of Candy that endures, of the caring soul who can appear when you need help the most ("If I have to sell my soul to the Devil himself, I am going to get home to my son.") and help you achieve what you want, making sure that all is right in the end, even if the road is bumpy at time ("It appears we left the kid alone all day with the corpse...but he was all right, after 6, 7 weeks when he came around and started talking again.")

-Eldona, Judge Alvin Valkenheiser's granddaughter. Enough said.

Kash,

You will really appreciate Biloxi Blues. Classic 40s that can be as light, and, funny, or, as deep (racial overtones), while still making you laugh, as you want. Watch it, wait a week and watch it again. [Wink]

Will do, Doc; sounds good, I think the cover art always made me ignore this movie, seemed like a teen idol movie for Matthew Broderick fans.
