This might be a no brainer, but wondering if anyone will side with me on this one. I think I like Ben Affleck better. Damon's career has certainly sky rocketed.....Bourne Series....Ocean's 11, 12, 13, etc.....starting to feel that he's presenting as a bit conceited. Ben had a rough go of things with some obviouse bombs at the box office...the whole JLo disaster...and people seemed to really rake him over the coals. I was really glad to see a gradual comeback...directing Gone Baby Gone, Hollywood Land, She's Just Not That Into You (my wife made me go)...I dunno.....he just seems like a really nice guy. I was feelin a bit bad for the guy...him and Matt seemed to start a great career together with Good Will Hunting...I can't help but think he was feeling pretty bad watching his best friend's career go into hyper drive when his came to a sudden halt. What do you guys think?

I gotta go with Damon for the win. Rounders, Bourne series, Ocean's series, Good Will Hunting, Courage Under Fire, Saving Private Ryan, The Departed....my faves from him. He did have his share of crappers though. Affleck had a few I liked alot. Armageddon, Reindeer Games, Chasing Amy, Bounce, Pearl Harbor. Also liked Gone Baby Gone that he wrote and produced.

They have teamed up for some very good stuff, but alot of absolute garbage too.

I'm a fan of them both, never got on the Affleck hate wagon, sure Daredevil didn't quite work out as well as hoped and though I'm probably alone in this: but I liked 'Gigli' OK the ending was ludicrous, but it was a decent picture overall. Same goes for 'Changing Lanes' & 'Paycheck'.

Glad Matt Damon made great films like 'Roudners', 'Syrianna' & 'The Departed' because 'Oceans' & 'Bourne' wouldn't have cut the mustard in the long run (both franchises have reached their maximum potential IMO). 'Hollywood Land' & 'Gone Baby Gone' were sterling works by Affleck as actor & director respectively, personally, I would've cast them as Captain Kirk & Mr. Spock in 'Star Trek' but then again, I liked 'Gigli' so what do I know about the movies?

Don't forget that Affleck was in "Dazed and Confused"

I can't help but laugh everytime I hear Matt Damon's name thanks to the way he was portrayed in "Team America World Police"

I think, as of today, Damon is the better actor with a more impressive film resume:

The Bourne Trilogy
Rounders
Good Will Hunting
The Talented Mr. Ripley
Oceans Trilogy
The Departed
Saving Private Ryan

That said, I like Ben Affleck A LOT, and I think that he's been unduly critized for his roles. He's been in some very good movies:

Dazed and Confused
Good Will Hunting
Shakespeare in Love
Hollywoodland
Smokin's Aces
Dogma
Chasing Amy
Boiler Room

The Sum of All Fears, Bounce, Paycheck, and a few others are entertaining although they're not great.
Let's not forget that he's multi-talented: he co-wrote Good Will Hunting, and directed Gone Baby Gone.

My call is that, given a few more good flicks (Stae of Play, perhaps), and Affleck will re-establish his credentials with the nay-sayers.

I like Damon better. But I didn't like the Bourne movies (snore) or the second and third Ocean's movies. Loved the Departed. I'm not too much of a fan of Afflac's, ha,ha. But I did like Good Will Hunting, and Gone Baby Gone was excellent. BTW, when I was on vacation last year, I met two women who are from the area where the film Gone Baby Gone takes place. They liked the film- they said everything was realistic enough to satisfy the locals.

Kudos on 'The Departed', best film of 2006: Remember near the end during the shootout in the elevator and that cop who saves Matt Damon's life: I haven't seen an audience react like that since 'Pulp Fiction' when Vince Vega accidentally shot Marvin in the face. Not to mention Jack Nicholson's opening monologue / montage to 'Gimmie Shelter'. Vintage Scorcese.
