Well, I returned from a Kathy Griffin show last night to find that my 13 year old ****er spaniel, Copper, had passed away. I'm so devastated right now, I really don't know what to say. I had him since he was 10 weeks old, and he was the best dog anyone could ever ask for. I will miss him forever.

I'm so sorry. My dog is like a child to me and she's getting older now too (12 this year) and starting to have a lot of health issues now. I'm trying to emotionally prepare myself for the day she'll pass. It's so hard. I wish dogs lived as long as we do. But he did his job. He brought light into your life. And if he could, he'd probably tell you what a great life he had because of you. He's looks so happy in that picture...I'm sure of it.

i am sorry saturnchick !! so sad my dogs are my kids too the last 2 black labs we had were 18 and 17 when they passed away!! now jasmine is getting up there too she is 10 and harley is 6 we all love our dogs but that is the worse part when they get old and leave us i really feel for you!! take care!

Awww I'm so sorry!! I love my dogs (and my cat) and I couldn't imagine losing them. I had my pit-mix for 12 years and it almost killed me when he died. It's something you'll feel for a very long time.

I am sorry to hear about the loss of your pet too. I have been through the loss of several of our dogs, and every one of them was totally devastating, they are a part of your every day life. We were just watching a video tape the other day from when my son was 4, and my mom's 2 dogs were in the video, and it was a bummer, they mark a time period in your life. I wish you the best in coping with everything.

My condolences Saturnchick, pets provide such comfort and we get so attached that it really hits hard when they are not there anymore. I know a few former pets I would love to see again for one precious day. Copper was a cutie, RIP.

oh no, i am really sorry to hear that saturnchick. it's hard to lose a pet. we have a 16 year old min pin and we dread the day we come home to that.

Sorry for your news Saturn.....I can surely relate.....month or so ago, had to put down our family dog of 17 years....Anook....a malamute husky. 13 years with Copper is a lot of luvin'...sounds like he had a loving home... and a great life I'm sure. So many dogs and other animals are mistreated and have horrible lives....smile for the fact that you've made sure Copper wasn't one of those....

My condolences Saturnchick.I had the same experience a while back.It was really heartbreaking.The loyalty,trust and friendship you only could find in a dog,makes it a huge loss..Wish you all the best.
